We initially made our reservations over the phone. The gal taking the reservation was very helpful, gave us a good rate ( military) and added notes for the type of room we were requesting. Because we were making the reservation so far out ( 6/7 weeks) she said our confirmation would be emailed
“…closer to our arrival date…” which was fine with us… until it never came and I had forgotten all about not having it.
We arrived at the hotel early evening and the young gentlemen at the desk ( who was more interested in watching videos on his phone than helping us!!!) informed us that the person who took our reservation “ didn’t work there” ( I had gotten her name wrong; but she DID work there) and told us the military rate was higher than we were quoted. Since it wasn’t that much higher, we said fine for that price, got our room assignment and took our bags up for our two night stay ( he keyed our keys for one night).
The room was clean, we had a pretty nice view of the area, and it was very quiet for the whole stay. They offered amenities for things forgotten ( rare these days) and the room had plenty of outlets for all our electronic devices. The pillows came with soft/ hard designations on them ( nice touch!!) and we were given a card for the type of room ( cleaning) service we would want for our stay. The room and all the little amenities it offered provided us a nice place to stay.
The last night of our visit, our bill was slid under the door. The military rate changed once again , only now it had gone up $50!! After breakfast ( a very good selection of items and a nice gal working the breakfast area) we went to the front desk to ask about our bill. Blaine was very hospitable but said he was unable to do anything as that was an issue management would need to attend to. So he gave us the managers card and said we should hear from him on Monday ( we did not). We called late Mon night and were told another message would be left for the manager. Tuesday, Jesse ( manager ) called and told us, yet ANOTHER military rate!! Luckily, it was the lowest of all we were quoted and he gave us that rate for both nights. So, in conclusion of reading this book, whatever you do , if you are quoted a rate with this hotel, make sure you get it RIGHT AWAY in writing to avoid all we went through.
We appreciated Jesse giving us the rate he did and for him keeping the word of an employee about a given rate.
It’s a nice hotel… a good place to stay… and I would recommend staying there.

My friend & I booked a room with 2 queen beds for 2 nights to stay at this hotel during our hot springs sessions. At first, I was afraid we might face a lot of noise because the hotel is very near Interstate 25...wrong! Our stay was very quiet & pleasant. The room was clean, had adequate towels, offered toilet articles & linens were provided. From 6-9 AM, the hotel supplies a full breakfast with eggs, biscuits, yogurt, coffee, juice, bagels, cereal or most of what you might want in the morning. Be aware that if you want room service, you must request it at the front desk. Also, room service may not necessarily be done in the morning, so when we went there at 3 PM to put on our bathing suits, the housekeeper was just getting around to it. We noticed other hotels around the area were quite old & dated, so we were happy to stay here. As for the downsides, this hotel is plunked in the middle of franchise & fast food places like McD, Denny's, Taco Bell, Walmart etc. A very short drive, however, will get you to downtown T or C with restaurants & spas or down the road to Elephant Butte Lake for boating & water sports.

For the most part, this was an average Holiday Inn Express with a few caveats. The location is good, right off the freeway. The front desk staff were very nice and friendly. The lobby area is clean, bright and modern. We were told that it was recently remodeled and the rooms were to be updated next. Our room was standard Holiday Inn Express that we’ve come to expect (clean room, beds and bathroom), but a few disappointing things with this property. The faux leather cover on the bench in the room was dirty-looking and ripped in many places from obvious years of use. It would be better to remove the bench from the room and have nothing in that spot than to have this horrible looking piece of furniture there. The carpet, where it met the tile, was frayed and long strings of carpet were laying on the tile. All it would take is someone to get on their hands and knees to cut those long strings. Most odd in our room was the yogurt cup that was wedged between the glass window and screen. My husband and I both wondered if there was a hole in the screen that was being covered up - we didn’t check it out, but this was kind of gross. I think with the reno of the rooms and a little more TLC by the staff, this will be a very nice property.

Stayed one night at this hotel while traveling. Check in was efficient. It was clear that the hotel staff took COVID protection seriously. There was hand sanitizer near all elevators and doors, mask requirements posted in many places, plexiglass partitions at front desk, etc. Room was spotless. No breakfast buffet, but a bag of breakfast items (muffin, juice, yoghurt, etc) was provided for each guest. Room was comfortable and neat. TV was fine with good selection of channels. For a ‘stopover”, “next to Highway” hotel, this is outstanding. Warning, the Chevron station next door has the highest gas prices I saw in New Mexico.

We were just overnighting here. We had a NS, King with fridge, microwave, wet bar and coffee maker. Also a sofa bed with desk and chair. Tub shower combo in bathroom. Everything was clean and well kept. This applied to both rooms we had.
Hotel was just off the freeway but no real problem with road noise.
When we got to our room and got unpacked we discovered the AC wasn't working. Front desk sent up a maintenance man right away and he found the AC unit not fixable. He went down and got us the same room right above us and brought us the keys and a luggage cart. He volunteered to help us move but we declined. He was very professional and courteous. So we moved upstairs and got the exact same room.
In this room there was no spare roll of toilet paper and the one on the reel was almost gone. Front desk provided replacement. Also the TV didn't work and the Front desk person came up and fixed it (it wasn't something that could be fixed by me).
Pool and hot tub were closed for renovations. Not an issue for us. There was no ice machine on the second floor where we got our first room. There was one on the third floor but it didn't work. The one on the main floor worked.
So by the luck of the draw we got the defective AC and the pain of moving. If we had got the third floor room first all would have been fine except for the 2 minor fixes.
The price was good and they remedied our issues. But it appears there needs to be a lot more attention to detail at this property.

No notice posted and was not notified by front desk when checking in the rooms would not be cleaned until checking out. Wished this was known prior to reserving a suite for work with scheduled stay for 2 weeks. Prior to stay 3 boxes were shipped to location for work supplies. These boxes were visible from front desk when checking in. Front staff Member reported only one small box was waiting. Asked the front desk member the next morning and was reported boxes in front were mine. Just came from another IHG hotel after a two week stay 1 hour away and service and care was impeccable. Do not recommend this hotel.

Awesome Stay! I've been lucky enough to stay at some 5 star hotels, but this more moderate property can teach them a few things. Very nice staff, clean modern rooms and an amazing morning breakfast, ..Hopefully my pics will take. I stayed 4 nts and there was confusion on getting my room serviced during my stay, but they were very nice about it and they deserve better than a 4.5 from me. So if you need to stay in T or C and want biscuits and gravey for breakfast, or eggs, or pancakes or fruit or cereal or cinnamon rolls, etc,, quiet and clean place, this is it. FYI, pool is indoor and size is best for kids, jacuzzi if fine. I was the only one on the elliptical in gym, don't think that gym will ever be crowded in T or C, lol.

Standard layout of HI Express hotels. Front desk made sure I had the room I wanted. Rooms were standard HIEX. WiFi on top floor was adequate, not fast (DL'ing app updates is a good way to judge). Breakfast was self-serve and full menu including eggs,bacon. If you need some supplies of any kind, WalMart is across the street. I don't usually stop in TorC but will definitely stay here on my next trip to the area. Would like to see HIEX use less plastic in their dining area.

Arrived at 3:15 pm to check in. Waited 25 minutes for a human to show up to check in. A sign was posted to use entryway phone for help. Needless to say, I called over and over, and no one showed up. I walked the main floor looking for staff and found no one. He finally showed and apology. Our room was lacking shampoo/conditioner. Pop machine didn't work.
