We stayed here one night on the way to Arizona and it was very nice. The rooms have been updated and the management was very friendly and helpful in their service and suggestions for dinner and breakfast. Although the rooms are small, they are comfortable and they reflect the history of Route 66 in its prime. we will stay here...

Great quaint place to stay on Route 66. Owners are very friendly and make you feel at home. Each room has an enclosed garage so those of us doing the road in a classic car will love that feature. A must stop

My hubby and I were on our way from Oklahoma City, OK to Durango, Colorado and decided to break up the drive. We arrived mid-afternoon and what a pleasant surprise! Cameron told us about the place and then took us to see our room. We got checked in, bought some merchandise and settled in for the night. It was such...

Took a partial Route 66 trek when heading back east from Las Vegas and this was my last stop before having to hit the interstates to get back home. The Blue Swallow Motel was the highlight of my trip. It was like stepping back in time to when I was a small child in the early 60's and my family...

Arrived slightly early however Jessica was extremely helpful on checking us into our room, giving us a tour of the facilities and informing us of the best places to eat, drink and shop. As we are currently on our Honeymoon, Jessica upgraded us to the Lillian Redman Suite which was a lovely gesture and the room was like stepping back...

Our family of 4 stayed here on 5/12/15 and it was perfect! Clean, quiet, cozy and comfortable. It was nice to have access to a full fridge to keep our cooler food cold overnight and to re freeze our cooler packs. It was pouring rain the morning we left, so we did not get to enjoy coffee in the lobby,...

I drove parts of Route 66 during Spring Break 2015, and this hotel stands out as one of the highlights of my trip. It was exactly the experience I wanted. Caveat: Don't stay here if you want fancy amenities and modern decor. Stay here if you want as close to authentic as you can get. One of my favorite things...

Marie, Thanks for the nice review. The bedspread is indeed chenille. People love them and often make remarks about how their grandparents used to have bedspreads like that. It is a unique feature of the Blue Swallow Motel. We do have one pet friendly room, but it usually books very far ahead of time. Please call the motel in order...

My time in Tucumcari was too short to satisfy me and I stopped at this Motel several times on visits and on business. It is an historic and beautifully maintained olde motor lodge dating back to the 20's or 30's. No viist through or to this beautiful lttle city is complete without a stay here!

Of course the Blue Swallow doesn't have all the fancy hotel amenities that you might expect with a five star rating, but that's not the point here. This is an "experience" stay, and the owners do a great job of making everyone feel at home. The rooms are a blast from the past, but with subtle updates to make them...

A true vintage Route 66 experience and decor. The owners/managers are great. My sister and I met here (she from TX and me from CO). Highly recommend this neon lighted motel with open garages. Some nights all are invited to bonfire with s'mores! Not just a room - a memory.
