The rooms are beautiful and big and the overall decor of the place was very welcoming and gave a feeling of north Africa / France. Nice big rooms, clean and comfortable bed and pillows and a well stocked mini bar. Service was excellent and both dinner and breakfast was a treat!

Kwa Lala BnB was a bit more difficult to find than expected as the side road one has to turn down, after turning off the highway through Pongola, had lost its name board and it looked like an alleyway leading to the back of shops. In the event, one has to simply go along the road and Kwa Lala is...

I stay at quite a few b&bs in KwaZulu Natal due to work. This lovely B&B has everything you will need. All the rooms open up onto the swimming pool area. The rooms are clean and neat with aircon, flat screen tv with dstv channels, mosquito net over bed, bar fridge stocked with various goods, a safe to lock up...

This guest house is a wonderfull mix of modern, antique and old fashioned hospitality. You are made to feel welcome and valued when you walk in. The accommodations are superb and the meals is really something else. The host and hostess, Leon and Susan, is warm friendly and very hospitable. Really an awesome find.

Excellent facilities and fine dining. Susan and Leon are fantastic and looked after us superbly. Will definitely go there again! Fronts onto a busy mall, but hotel is impressively quiet and a real oasis as others have pointed out.

We chose Kwalala because of their good reviews on Tripadvisor and the simple fact that we needed a place to sleep after 500kms of driving. It was not easy to find in the dark, although in the end we discovered that there were signs... for us, it still was hard to find (whether this says more about us than the...

Kwa Lala is the jewel of Pongola. I stayed there for 2 weeks in September 2014. It was a home away from home. Susan and Leon are excellent hosts. They are most accommodating. Susan's meals are 5 star cuisine. Susan also has a beautiful orchid garden. I highly recommend staying at Kwa Lala if you visit Pongola.

We stayed one night on our way to the coast. Susan truly was a wonderful host. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, spacious with everything you may need. We enjoyed dinner so much, absolutely delicious 5 star meal! They were able to cater for my husband and myself just as graciously as they did the large group that stayed there....
