We stayed overnight en-route from Johannesburg to Mozambique. As it was just a stop over, we booked the dinner and breakfast option. Were a little concerned to discover a large sign on main road that said the place had been up for Auction between the date of our booking and our arrival. Some of the staff are concerned for their... We stayed 5 nights in Askari 1 self catering. The lodge is beautifully set on a large farm with lots of animals roaming around. Although the pointer in Google points to loction on a south side of N2 (not the lake side) there is an easy access to the dam from the farm and beautiful views from the main lodge.... More

I've stayed at Esikhoteni twice now over the past 2 years. Really enjoy the lodge, the service, and access to the water for tiger fishing. It provides for an excellent atmosphere, and top value for money tiger fishing with good boats and really good boat skippers. The accommodation is also comfortable, well maintained and clean. The bush environment at night... More

We have now visited Esi Lodge two years in a row, which in itself tells a story! We just love this place. The Bushcamp, whilst rustic, gives you a true sense of what it is like to live out in the African bush! Just awesome. Dion, Linda and Robert as always are the perfect hosts. Yes we will be back... We booked Esikhotheni for one night as a stop over on our way to Mozambique. We arrived at 18h30 in the evening, and the lady that assisted us at reception was very sweet and friendly and explained to us that we were the only guests there for that night. We stayed in the Askari self-catering unit. Upon arriving at the... More

Both our expectations were met and far exceeded. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and the food is just incredible. The air-conditioned rooms are attended to more than once a day by very trustworthy staff , and the... More
