We stayed at Leon and Dennis's guesthouse as part of a road trip round the Karoo with our son. Dennis is the retiring sort, and we didn't see him, but Leon was very much in evidence right from our arrival, and regaled us with stories of bikers, midnight rides and colourful local characters. Our bedroom in the courtyard was quite...

The last night of our Trans Klein Karoo cycling trip was spend at Tradouw Guesthouse. Leon and Dennis made us feel so welcome, the guest house is like a home away from home. Our rooms, conveniently grouped together, were clean and comfortable, it was a chilly night but with the wall heaters and blankets we were all cozy. After a...

Like the previous reviewer, my partner and I have been visiting this unique, quirky guesthouse for many years. In fact, we go out of our way to visit Tradouw Guesthouse whenever we are in the country. Leon and Denis are the kindest, most hospitable hosts imaginable. They are still as enthusiastic about the place as they were a decade ago ....

My partner and I have been visiting Barrydale and staying at the Tradouw Guesthouse for many years Leon and Denis always make us welcome, and we regard the guesthouse as a home away from home. The overall ambience is quirky, and the rooms are very comfortable.

We were a group of 10 middle aged bikers (with 6 motorbikes), that rambled into Barrydale on a cold and blistery day in May 2015. We were warmly welcomed by our host/barman/entertainer - the Fabulous Leon. The "Tradouw Guesthouse" is a gem in the middle of the Karoo. At short notice, Leon organised a table for us at a local...

To the Middle Age Bikers from a middle aged guesthouse owner, What a pleasure it was to meet you all and host you in our home. Our chats in the Bar took me back in time to the good days in Hillbrow and Living in Jhb. We are so happy that you enjoyed you stay in our charing village and...

It was a first time visit and Tradouw Guesthouse really lived up to its reviews. Leon welcomed us like old friends and the accommodation was very comfortable. The area is stunning and Barrydale is so peaceful and friendly. The shower was superb and the breakfast very homely. Leon was very thoughtful and made dinner reservations for both nights. This is...

Leon and Denis were so welcoming. We spent one night here but we were made to feel like old friends as soon as we arrived. The room was clean and simple, and the en suite was basic but efficient - good hot water and good shower pressure (can't always be expected in some guest houses!!). The garden was a relaxing...
