The pool area with double loungers is very pleasant. Very helpful and polite barman. Decent wi-fi access. After that it goes badly downhill! The room are very cramped compared to the spacious bathrooms We were lucky that our fixed air-con worked efficiently. Other members of our party had portable air-con units that could work properly even with staff assistance with...

Really nice, neat, clean, modern. Lovely pool area. Service slow. But nice for a short stay, or day visit. Staff just need to work faster. Food wasn't bad at all. Beauty spa a bit of a disappointment and I'll equipped but other than that it's a really pleasant hotel in a very hot one man town! If o had to...

Gave us another room again windows could not be locked from the inside and there privacy issues having a shower because the windows at the shower area had cracks so people can see you and also they could not be closed at all....

I have stayed here a couple of times before and will continue to do so as there is nothing else really in Clanwilliam. I like the layout and decor of the rooms, typical rural hospitality and on site restaurant, which provided a decent enough meal. The hotel probably needs a bit of tlc and maintenance but it won't stop me...

As we arrived in Clanwilliam late October we had no accommodation booked and wanted to ask the local Tourist Office for help...they were closed but we were advised to go to the Accommodation Booking service - which turned out to be in the Clanwilliam lodge. As the lady at the reception desk asked us "why don't you stay here" I...

a very nice place unfortunately the reception staff was not very knowledgeable on local attractions. Basic breakfast .We wanted to visit some sites recommended in the guide, but the staff has not been able to give us proper directions.

Reasonable hotel, though it would benefit from a thorough clean and a few odd-jobs - for example our sash window wouldn't close properly because there was no latch, so we got quite a lot of road noise. Service in the restaurant could be better, though the food was pretty cheap. Cushions on the outdoor daybeds were left out in the...

Let’s start with the only positive – we were referred to The Palms at Clanwilliam Lodge by a local, as they were the only restaurant in Clanwilliam open at 2pm on a Saturday during the flower season!! In hindsight, I wish we had just got something from Spar. The staff were disorganised and unprepared to receive lunch guests. They had...

When we arrived yesterday, 1 September 2016, we discovered that our room was never booked. The staff on duty was very friendly and helpful. The room we got was filthy, there was old food in the bar fridge, the carpet was full of stains, the bathroom needs a thorough cleaning, no covers on the base of the two single beds,...

Stayed there recently and on arrival was pleasantly surprised that the Lodge staff had switched on the heating in the room. This made me feel particularly welcome as the outside temperature was around 14 degrees. The rooms are really comfortable and tastefully decorated (I like it) - simple / uncluttered. Both dinner and breakfast served in the restaurant was adequate...
