I would strongly not recommend staying in Gansbaai Backpackers. We reserved 1 night trough hostelworld, as we did with every other hostel we stayed in. As we arrived to the place, the doors were locked and there was no one there. There was a sign on the door advising guests to call a specific number for service. We did. 4...

Hi Rafael, I am responding to your review and would like to explain what happen. I was on duty at the time of your booking and had a accident where my phone and everything was stolen I had no means of communication and could not let anyone know of my situation this is the reason why no one could help...

This was an awesome place to stay with a cozy king size bed in the double suite. It's tucked away in a nice neighborhood super close to a great beach trail for morning runs. The rooms have speedy wifi for late night streaming before bed. The management was easy to access, very friendly and super accommodating. When we had trouble...

There is no reception per se you have to ring the Manager who might be around or not. Although clean, downstairs there is only 1 bathroom for 8 people to share. The kitchen was quite well equipped although most of the coffee cups were chipped. We had the place to ourselves being Sept. It does have adequate parking, picnic tables...

It was no surprise to us that the management is a little dodgy so we made a backup plan in case there was no one around. We didn't feel like waiting for hours after the long day we had. Fortunately someone was indeed on the premise as we arrived but it turned out they didn't have the dorm room we...

Where do I start? The actual building is very nice however unless you feel like waiting perhaps 3-4 hours, perhaps even longer to check in - DON"T BOTHER! I have been backpacking around the globe for 14 years and this is THE WORST service I have EVER encountered. I have received better customer service in a South American public toilet....

We stayed in the "on suite"at the back of the main back packers. It was comfortable but very basic. It could be very comfortable if the fan was replaced by a less noisy one as it is terrible hot in the place, the coaches smell terrible of urine but in general if you go out early in the morning and...

We stayed in a double ensuite, it had very comfortable bed and the place overall was very clean and the kitchen facilities nice. However, there were some problems. First there was confusion over rooms between the owner and he cleaner that led to uncertainty around moving rooms so we never really go to "settle in." Next there is no staff...

My partner and I stayed in the private double ensuite room. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Towels are supplied. Parking is available. There is a nice view from the backyard. The backpackers itself is an older property (converted from an old house), it is clean and includes lots of amenities - braai, a full kitchen, dining area,...

My husband and I stayed in a double en suite with a large and very comfortable bed. The lodge has a lovely view of the sea and is a short walk from Blue Goose restaurant and Tuscany Cafe. We had a great time here and loved exploring Hermanus from the quiet Gansbaai; there is also a fun brewery nearby in...
