Highly professionell and friendly staff. Very good game drives, Good food, nice rooms decent luxurious. We really enjoyed our stay, I just can recommend this place. Animals were right in front of the lodge and we were right into the sometimes ruel nature.

This lodge is very luxurious, everything was perfect, tents which are big and warm, staff which was excellent and friendly, morning coffee brought to bed, extraordinary safaris, dinners and drinks were just right.

A great lodge but the Savute channel has stopped flowing again and the view from the "tents" is of a dry river bed. Vast herds of buffalo have moved elsewhere. Our other disappointment is that they are not allowed to do night drives. Belmond's Khwai...More

Dear Mistress_marple, Thank you for taking the time to share your review of your recent stay at our Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge. The Savute Channel's seasonal ebb and flow remains one of Botswana's mysteries... it was dormant for close on 30 years and started flowing...More

Since this lodge is within Chobe National Park are night drives permitted? Also, can the game drive vehicles be driven off road? I think I read that these two activities are not permitted in national parks, only in private reserves.
