We stayed at Little Vumbura in early June and loved it. We only managed to book 2 nights which clearly wasn't enough. We thought the setting on an island was wonderful and the "tent" perfect. The entire staff couldn't have been more helpful and we very much liked the food. Our guide, Sam, was a veteran and he managed to... More

I recently stayed a Little Vumbura as the first stop on a safari in Botswana followed by a trip to Victoria Falls. It was the star of the trip and I think the unanimous favorite of everyone in our group. From the moment we arrived on our tiny Wilderness Safari plane in the small airstrip in the Okavango Delta, the... More

We stayed at this camp for three nights in mid-June. Weather chilly in morning and night, so blankets are available in vehicles in the AM. Some mosquitos early evening after dinner. We did not see some of the animals other reviewers, from May and July, mentioned, like kudu in camp and tiny frogs, but we saw plenty of animals, including... More

We (6 adults) stayed for 3 nights in early July,2016. From the moment we arrived,we felt welcomed and knew we were in for excitement. We started our adventure immediately with a game drive then a boat to camp followed by dinner in the boma with wonderful singing/ dancing by camp staff. This, the fourth Wilderness Safari camp we visited on our trip, had many elements familiar from others: the musical welcome from the assembled camp staff; the refreshing flannels after every outing; the copious amounts of food and drink on offer; the accompaniment to and from tents after dark; the unnecessary (to us at least) hot water bottles at night and... First of all, it feels a little crazy to rate a place this gorgeous four stars. It's gorgeous! You're on safari! There are two elephants who like to hang out around camp! That said, none of these places are inexpensive, and given what you're paying, I felt like this particular camp had really strong pros but also some cons. Pros:... More

Iconic and perennially popular Okavango island camp with great game viewing.Little Vumbura epitomises island living in the midst of a water wonderland. Designed to blend in with its surroundings, this beautiful camp is shaded by the canopy of an ancient Okavango forest that covers the island. A plunge pool and reading area are raised to provide a fine view over the floodplains and a star-deck leads off over the water from the dining area. HighlightsSurrounded as it is by water and lying close to large channels, aquatic creatures are easily found, but general wildlife viewing is consistently good all year round, with lion, leopard, elephant, sable and buffalo along with extensive plains game.
