This was our first lodge after a long flight from Heathrow via Johannesburg and Maun. To access the lodge the last part of our journey was by boat and we were met on the jetty by members of what proved to be an excellent group of people. Our accommodation was extremely comfortable and the food imaginative and of a high... More

We arrived in a small plane and were welcomed by our guide Jacob. On the way to the camp we already spotted rare wild dogs, a huge buffalo herd, elephants, a male lepard and many more. The camp is located in a beautiful setting, tents are spacious and confortable. The staff is very friendly and caring. The dinners at the... More

This was our third lodge during our stay in botswana and we all thought it was the weakest of three we stayed at. There is good wildlife viewing on the game drives but there are better lodges out there.

10th STOP: Moremo, Okavango Delta, Botswana. Following a short bush-plane trip from Selinda Camp, a half-hour land trip and a swift boat ride to the island, my wife and I started our 3 nights in a Suite at Little Vumbura Camp. This differed from Selinda Camp in that it provided an opportunity to boat in the Okavango Delta where we... More

Went here with the family over my Mums Birthday. Being from Botswana and never having travelled around the Delta, it was truly mesmarising to see what I had missed, lovely to see just how wild it can still be waking up to the sounds of an elephant leaning up against your tent! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the camp staff including a cool refreshing drink and moist hand towel while listening to a welcome song sung for us! We stayed in March 2016 and had a nice stay. Although a bit of searching was required due to the high grasses, we did see quite a bit of animals including leopard. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Iconic and perennially popular Okavango island camp with great game viewing.Little Vumbura epitomises island living in the midst of a water wonderland. Designed to blend in with its surroundings, this beautiful camp is shaded by the canopy of an ancient Okavango forest that covers the island. A plunge pool and reading area are raised to provide a fine view over the floodplains and a star-deck leads off over the water from the dining area. HighlightsSurrounded as it is by water and lying close to large channels, aquatic creatures are easily found, but general wildlife viewing is consistently good all year round, with lion, leopard, elephant, sable and buffalo along with extensive plains game. Little Vumbura is situated in a concession leased from remote rural communities organised under the Okavango Community Trust and aims to help bring the benefits of ecotourism to local people.6 Tents: Spacious canvas tents; en-suite bathrooms; honeymoon suite has an outdoor bathtubExperiences: Game drivesMokoro excursionsBoatingGuided walks (on request) ... more   less
