I loved the staff, the ambience, the rooms, and everything about this place. It is a first class experience all the way around. The commission itself is beautiful, the animals are beautiful and I would go back there in a heartbeat.

Chitabe is an excellent camp, pretty much five star at everything. The game was wonderful, lions, hyenas, wild dogs including a chase and a kill, hippos, etc.,etc. Duke our guide was marvellous, what really good man. He had great eyes, he missed nothing and a great communicator and fun too! The rooms were comfortable, spacious and quiet. The food was...

Wilderness Safari's Chitabe and Chitabe Lediba camps are just a short distance apart and seem pretty much identical. Accommodations at Lediba were spacious, ultra-comfortable and left nothing to be desired, the same being true for the copious, superbly prepared meals. Kudos to Gloria (Michelle Obama's doppelgänger?) and her first-rate staff for their friendliness and efficiency in food and tent services....

We were a group of 4 (2 couples) and visited 3 camps Kwetsani, Chitabe, Duma Tau for 3 nights each. We visited in November so spring season, start of rains. See my other camp TA reviews. Chitabe - ‘Classic’ camp feel. Camp is older, has not been remodeled/updated but still very nice. Well organized, staff very experienced and helpful. Lots...

I’m lucky enough to have visited many of the Wilderness Camps within the Okavango Delta, but finally got around to visiting Chitabe this week. If only I had done so earlier. The camp itself is nicely set out, well maintained, spotlessly clean, and runs so smoothly. But I think what sets this camp apart from all other camps is their...

I have been travelling to Botswana for over 30 years now- of all the areas I have visited, over all the years, it is to Chitabe that I return. I was there most recently in December 2016 with my wife and son, and it was a priviledge to watch him witness this area and its natural beauty first hand, and...

What an amazing camp! The 'tents' were nothing short of luxurious rooms one would expect in a 5-star city hotel. The food was delicious and with 3 course meals and many options to choose from, it was any food-lover's paradise. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, not to mention our wonderful guide. Enthusiastic, humorous and nothing short of an...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The archetypal Okavango game-viewing destination. Raised on decks on a beautiful tree island in the south-east of the Okavango, Chitabe Camp looks out across a Delta floodplain that is transformed during winter from dry rushes to lush oasis, one of only a few distinct habitats in this diverse concession. Back in camp, the thatched dining and lounge area provide beautiful views, while each tent exudes its own personality, aided by superb fine art wildlife photographs. A pool provides cool sanctuary in the heat of the day. Highlights: On this classic safari experience, game drives take in the different habitats - the variety of these ensures that there is an equal diversity of wildlife, including big game such as elephant and buffalo, but also a range of plains game species like wildebeest, tsessebe and lechwe in numbers that support healthy lion, leopard and hyaena numbers, as well as regular visits by wild dog and cheetah. The camp is composed of 8 tents: spacious en-suite Meru-type tents, individually styled; outdoor shower; double vanity basins. Experiences include: day and night game drives • guided walks (on request). ... more   less
