Hugely welcoming staff at a peaceful and stunning retreat. Historic and beautiful surroundings with a warm and informal atmosphere. Great food, and an ideally placed hotel if you want to explore the Buckinghamshire countryside.

Spa Day was exceptional, beautiful setting and the treatment room was lovely. One of the best massages ever, it was bliss, and no hard sell on the products used, which were excellent. Lunch was charming, it really was a treat day.

This is a very expensive historic country house hotel (National Trust) and spa set in beautiful grounds. The main house is absolutely stunning with several large public rooms and a library. All are furnished in period style and have been refurbished/restored to a very high standard. The bedrooms are spacious and well-equipped and the bathroom was large, with gorgeous linens...

This is a lovely old house converted into a 5 star hotel. It is like visiting Downton Abbey. Each room is named after someone famous who stayed there. The room we had was very comfortable and fitted out with bed, dresser, sofa, chairs, walk on wardrobe and en-suite. Apart from the fact that the floors creaked slightly (but then they...

This hotel was chosen to celebrate my husband's birthday and its location for we needed to be a short drive from the church where our granddaughter was being baptised. We arrived Friday afternoon, stayed two nights, dinner, bed and breakfast, had lunch on Saturday in the spa cafe before spending a most relaxing three hours in the spa. Our room...

We had a special offer for a night and dinner and so decided to give it a try. Slick service on arrival, with very good explanation of the hotel and spa and walks in the grounds. We gave the pool and sauna a try before dinner which was lovely and not at all crowded. A drink in the beautiful rooms...

Spa treatments left us refreshed and smooth! Swimming pool, jacuzzi and steam room. Extremely attentive and helpful staff. Highly...

Loved the setting and the building itself. Staff were generally very polite and attentive and dinner was very good. The rooms are somewhat dated, but that's to be expected and part of the charm. Although we didn't need it, the TV is tiny. However, there is very fast wifi and the building is well heated. If the weather is nice...
