I had lunch here with a group of colleagues and we all thought the food was excellent. The set menu price made it good value for the quality, the environment and the standard of service. The staff and service are among the best I have ever experienced- courteous, pleasant and attentive without forever butting into conversations with, 'Is everything all...

My boyfriend booked a weekend away in Hartwell House for my birthday. It is quite easily accessible from London - we took a train (a bit over an hour) from Marylebone station and arrived in Aylesbury. It is then about a 10 minute taxi ride to the hotel. The hotel grounds are beautiful - unfortunately it was raining when we...

This is such a grand house. The parking is not super-close to the entrance, so there's slight walk if you're not getting dropped off. The rooms are massive. The staff are very polite. Despite the grandness, they do make you feel very welcome. Especially the Reception staff and the 'bellhop'. The bedrooms in the main house are very big, and...

This is the third time our company have enjoyed our Christmas Party at Hartwell House. It is a beautiful place. The staff are very helpful and attentive and the food delicious. Being able to enjoy the library to have drinks and canapes beforehand and coffee and mince pies after our meal was lovely, especially as we can sit in front...

Loved the history of the house that was provided in the room. The only down side was being a vegetarian. Not really catered for. But can put up with that...

You are made to feel at home, without any false liking up to you etc. The decoration, spa facilities and range of...

My wife and I felt at home immediately when we entered this beautiful, grade one listed building. We were greated by friendly staff and a very helpful porter showed us to our huge room (20ft x 25ft with high ceiling) with views of the estate. The en suite was equipped with dated antique furniture in keeping with the building's age...

Having stayed in many wonderful places this hotel did not disappoint at all. It is a historic house and the main rooms were decorated very well. The service was excellent and the food and wine could not be faulted. I only wished i had more time to enjoy the property more and the spa.

The hotel is very good and I was unsure whether to award 4 or 5. However, I choose a single room and so probably shouldn't have expected more than I got: a small single room with a very old shower! I was, at first, annoyed that there was no iron, ironing board or kettle. However, when I called I was...
