For some reason I was thinking that rooms at the Bear Mountain Inn were minimal and rustic. So, imagine my surprise when I opened the door to a suite which had to be about 600 square feet. There was a large living area, large bedroom, and a large bathroom. It was all very, very comfortable. Note: We were in the...

We attended a wedding here the weekend of 10/22/16 and stayed at the Inn. Despite some poor weather, we really enjoyed it. The hiking is supposed to be very good, even though we only walked around the lake. The food in the restaurant and bar was very good, and the overall ambience of the place was nice. Located right inside...

My husband and I were looking for a really nice get-away spot and landed at the Bear Mountain Inn - so glad we did. We stayed at the Inn where we found the staff to be friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the Inn, the NY State Park (in which the Inn resides), and the surrounding area. William (at the front...

Room was spacious and clean. We had a King size bed and the mattress was very comfortable. The staff were all pleasant and very accommodating. The 1915 tapas bar and dining room employees were all friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, but a little pricey. During check-out, Bill at the front deck was very friendly and considerate. We had...

Although I live in Hoboken amongst one square mile of restaurants,,, there's nothing more that I LOVE than to drive up to Bear Mountain, anytime of the year, go for a nature walk along the trails and then hit the Bear Mountain INN for the best Sunday brunch ever! The staff is super-friendly, the dining area is large and decorated...

We love going to Bear Mountain in the fall and hiking around the area with its beautiful well-tended paths and amazing vistas. We usually end up at the Inn for dinner after. This year, the quality of the food was not as good as year's past. We came here with a group of 7: 3 adults and 4 kids. There...

Came here on way up for leaf peeping. Neat old place. We stayed in the Overlook. Great view from main porch, nice fireplace. Rooms not bad. But walls and doors paper thin, with barking dog that howled for hours when the owners went out. Ugghh. Food was okay. Workers seem to be uninspired and worn out. But overall, I'd come...

This is a beautiful Inn located just outside NYC. The main building is gorgeous and the staff very friendly. We stayed in the cottages which are six rooms with a private bath and a central den with a small motel refrigerator. They were built by the CCC but have been updated. One of the three rooms we rented had a...

We were greeted in our cottage by a cockroach; the room was dinky and the bathroom the size of a broom closet; the fridge (advertised as an amenity) wasn't working; when i made the long hike to the front desk to ask for some ice i was directed to the distant Outlook inn -- strictly do it yourself; the antique...

Walked around the grounds with the family. Had lunch and took the kids on the carousel. Very nice place. Couldn't believe we had to pay $10 to park for the day, but I guess that's how they make it a nice place.
