Older lodge situated 1 mile away from the beautiful inn. Both are separate lodgings. The lodge has a smell of either too much cleaning liquids, or it needed a good airing to remove the odor. The AC works, but kept making noises every 20-30 minutes, and made sleeping difficult! We submitted the complaint to front desk on leaving, hopefully Rm 207 will get fixed. Breakfast is to go buffet at the Inn not the Lodge, yes it means driving up there. Lodge had a partial view of river and lake. I recommend you splurge and stay in Inn, which is the photo above!

I am enjoying my stay here at the Overlook Lodge. I think Bear Mountain is great. The only issues are that the restaurant is closed due to the pandemic and the State Park has garbage left on the ground by visitors - neither of which is the fault of the hotel. The room is clean and the views are unbeatable. I think it is a great value and I will come again.

We stayed here for one night during a weekend stay for hiking and shopping. Hotel grounds are “lodgy” and they are very dog friendly. Views are nice and surrounding area has high end shopping. Rooms were spacious and clean grounds pretty loud with guests in and out. Common area has fireplace and nice overlook of water.

We visited with our pup and understand the room assigned to us. The room was also available early which is greatly appreciateed. We were happy with the gorgeous views from our room until the night came. Some youngsters ran and jumped right above our room for hours on. The front desk staff were very helpful but couldn’t keep rowdy guests to come in at midnight and sang and gathered in the lobby.... Then there was furniture moving noises which started around 7:00 A.M. Management may need to install more cameras and penalties for inconsiderate guests. Quiet signs may also help. None of us was able to sleep much. It is sad to see a building with so much potential and still can’t not strive. Staff seem to have done everything they can to please guests. Management will need to step up here.

Last year at this time we really enjoyed ourselves at Overlook Lodge with our pup. While still outdated and not very clean, this year Overlook Lodge was not decorated at all for holidays. Also while we knew restaurant would be closed due to Covid, not many other food delivery options. To top off our trip which was focusing on the spa, my BF massage was interrupted by fire alarm due to kitchen fire (no fault of hotel, things happen), and obviously not completed. Then when I went for my massage an hour later, the masseuse never showed up and no one else available.
