We just returned from a lovely weekend with our two young boys and close friends who also have two young children. This was one of our favorite weekends together as a family, and something I know my children will talk about for a long time. Farmer Frank, Farmer Jared and Ms. Sherry were gracious host who treated our children like their own. It was so wonderful to see the joy our kids had for spending time on the farm while interacting with the animals and doing all of the fun chores. We were blessed with amazing weather which made the weekend even more special. There was no shortage of activities like milking cows, collecting eggs, feeding all of the farm animals, and riding in the ATV. The Gifford house on the property was perfect for two families with 4 bedrooms as well as a BBQ making it very easy to cook and hang out outside. Ms. Sherry also provided her famous pancake mix which was outrageous and we made sure to bring more home (along with all the great meats for sale). The kids also loved the campfire with live entertainment. It felt like a wholesome moment from a movie where they were all running around and playing tag while the sun was setting. Also makes you appreciate all the hard work that goes into running a family owned Farm. Amazing Hull O Farms has been in the family since the 1700s in this beautiful valley. True gem

Wonderful family experience. Kids loved feeding the calves, sheep, pigs, etc. The hayride around the farm and local community was 'untouchable'. At night we had a campfire ring with 'smores....and a guitar player/singer. What enjoyment everyone got out of this experience, but it was fun watching the expressions on the kids faces. Cannot say enough for our stay at Hull-o Farms... A truly quaint, old farmhouse in a rural location....Owners and staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful..... Would certainly consider going back again; we had a wonderful time.

We visited Hull-O Farms in July for 3 days and what an amazing experience! Farmer Frank, Ms. Sherry, Jared and Jacob welcomed us onto their multi-generation farm and treated us like Family! They let us participate as much as we liked on the farm…Feeding cats and kittens, goats, cows, sheep, deer, bunnies, etc…milking cows, collecting eggs and so much more. What a simple and honest way of life! Only three hours from NYC, it’s a totally different way of living. You can explore the farm to your heart’s content, walk up the hills, stroll down the road, go fishing right in the backyard and more. They also shared so many historical stories with us and took us on a hayride. We later enjoyed smores on a campfire with live music and the list goes on. We stayed at the Rose and it was fully equipped just like home and if you need anything, just ask. We tried to disconnect and kept screen time to a minimal, making 3 days feel like a long time…time on the farm moves much slower! Make sure to get some meats at the farm and have a barbeque…The taste is out of this world!!! You can also buy the eggs…yes…the eggs that you just collected! Few suggestions…Take some food with you so that you don’t have to drive anywhere. We froze water bottles to keep the food cold in the cooler and then drank the bottled water as needed. Also, the barn smell takes a little getting used to and there are a lot of flies. Be prepared to get your hands a little dirty…Bottom line…it is a very unique experience, 5 stars all the way. Only regret is that we didn’t stay long enough to help out more around the farm…but…there is always Next Time!

My family and I traveled from the DC area to slow down, experience another way of life on the farm, take on challenges, get dirty, and, most importantly, give my kids opportunities to experience new tasks and teach personal accountability and responsibility around animals. This place did not disappoint.

We all loved it! Hull-O Farms is good for the soul.

Mira (age 10) - I loved when every morning at farm chooses there was always something new to experience. There are all these cute baby kittens to feed. I bet at home you wouldn’t get to have 10 kittens crawl over you, milk cows, bottle feed adorable goats and collecting chicken eggs. After inside barn chores, we went out to feed the cutest, little baby cows. Me and my family always wanted to go to a farm and after farm chores, Farmer Jared showed us something new to do, or how to do. Farmer Jared always made us laugh and he had some good vibes. He has a kind heart. Some kittens did die, but that is the farm life cycle. By the time you leave, it feels like a second home.

Ethan (age 10) - Morning farm chores are so fun. I liked feeding the baby cows milk bottles. I really enjoyed it and now know how to milk a cow with my hands. I also liked all the cats. They were very nice and cute. Farmer Jared is the nicest farmer I ever met. He is very kind and makes lots of jokes. I loved how Jared took us fishing and we caught so many fish. The house we stayed in was so nice. It felt very cozy and I liked sleeping on the top bunk bed. Every morning we would walk over and feed the horses carrots and apples. The hay ride was fun and helped us explore the farm more. The campfire in our backyard was so great and a man named Ron played the guitar. He had bad jokes, but the s’mores were delicious! It was a great experience for a first time at a farm. I will definitely return again.

My wife and I took our two toddler sons (22 months & 19 months) to the farm and had the best time ever! We stayed in a cottage on the farm and delighted in waking up to cows mooing and seeing the deer skip and hop all around us! It was a stimulating and proactive learning experience for our sons who are learning to talk and identify farm animals. One of our sons has special needs and this experience got him talking more! This experience is great for children who are autistic or on the spectrum! You’ll see your child blossom!

My wife and I enjoyed whipping up pancakes and savory sausages in the kitchen (courtesy of the farm), which was well kept and had the most updated appliances. We were even pleased with the selection of toys and books available for our sons. The cottage was baby-proof. We were able to get two pack and plays for our boys to sleep.

SHERRY was an amazing host! She was easily accessible and tended to our needs as a family. Farmer GEORGE was wonderful! He made sure we had a good time feeding the animals in the mornings! My wife and I milked a cow for the first time under his guidance. Farmer GEORGE also had great suggestions for fun activities outside the farm like a petting zoo and ice cream! They even had a bonfire for all the guests on the first night. We roasted s’mores and chatted around the fire with other families over acoustic music!

My family had the most enjoyable experience at Hull-O Farms!!! We will definitely be back in the fall!

Thank you so much for sharing your family and kind words with us. It's rewarding enough to know an individual simply enjoyed their time with us, so to hear that the farm benefited someone in such a special way is just... incredible.

We had such a great time at the farm. The 4 bedroom farm house was comfortable for us with 5 kids and had everything we needed. Shelly, farmer Frank and Jared were friendly, welcoming and took time to explain things about the farm and animals. There was a large variety of animals for everybody to play with, and the 'chores' were so much fun. Shelly is a wonderful host with a great attitude and thinks about the little details that makes one feel at home. Thank you!

I first stumbled upon Hull-O in the summer of 2020 when I was desperate for a vacation with my family but I was worried about leaving NY State due to the quarantining restrictions etc. This place is a hidden gem for families! I don’t know why more people don’t know about it, but they use word of mouth as their primary mode of advertisement. This is a working family farm that has been in their family for 7 generations. There are cows, deer, chickens, cats, horses, sheep, goats, pheasants, bunnies, and pigs. The kids get to do chores alongside Farmer Jared - his rapport with kids (and adults and animals for that matter) is kind, patient, and a dry humor comedy show. The kids feed all of the animals, pet and interact with them, milk the cows, collect eggs, and see how what farmers do. It is just such an enriching experience for animal lover kids like mine. We have stayed on site several times in the cottages which has been transformative. It’s like leaving the rapid pace of regular life and taking a step back in time with your family. Put down your phones (except when you’re getting all the great pics) and spend time with each other. Get to know your kids. Make breakfast together. Ms. Sherry’s pancake mix is amazing, and the breakfast sausage from the farm is Amazing. My family has done all the big kid activities and resorts (rocking horse, great wolf lodge, sesame place, Dutch wonderland, etc) and we frequent the “commercial” farms (harbes, white post, Hurds, etc) but this is so different and we keep coming back. It is more intimate. These people invite you into their world for a few days. We have gone in summer, fall, and winter and all of the seasons are different and special. We just returned from there and paired it with Tubing at Windham, and Ice Skating in Saugerties. If you’re in Windham or Hunter with your family, you can stop by for the day. This is a must-do!!!

If you’re looking for that perfect farm getaway to not only connect with your family but with nature look no further. Farmer frank, sherry, Jake and Jacob couldn’t have been more hospitable, caring and patient in teaching the children about the farm. I could have listened to Farmer Frank’s stories from the his past, all day. We took full advantage of the farm even when our chores were done and when they saw this they included us in other chores such as stacking up the hay bales and riding on the ATV’s. My son got all the tips from Farmer Jacob and Frank on how to fish the pond which was a highlight for him. The accommodation was so charming and well kept up for being old farm houses. It’s not your typical vacation but an unforgettable experience for your family.

We loved every minute of our 3 days stay at the Hull-O-Farms. We have 2 girls, 8 and 10 years old and neither one wanted to leave the farm when it was time to come home! From the moment we arrived, Sherry welcomed us with the biggest and warmest smile and explained to us everything that was planned for our weekend. We stayed at the Gifford House, which was so cozy, spacious and super clean! We had a welcome basket filled with goodies waiting for us which my girls really much enjoyed! The chores every morning were so much fun! Jared was our farm host, what an amazing person! He spent so much time with us and made sure that my kids got the full experience with every single animal in the farm. My girls couldn't wait each morning and afternoon to start with the farm chores. We also had a bonfire and s'mores while Ron, the musician was playing songs requested from my girls. Farmer Frank gave us a tour and hay ride around the farm and he took his time to teach us about the family and the farm. They also have natural products for you to bring home, all organics and so fresh and delicious. We brought home meat, eggs and tomatoes and peppers from their garden. Also, very important is Sherry's secret pancake mix which is included in the welcome basket! We had the best pancakes ever!!! We bought some pancake mix along with syrup to bring home as gifts for family and friends. We felt like family there and we are looking forward to return to the farm either in the winter or next summer.
