I spent 5 days at the Baker House this summer as part of my honey moon and I can say that these days in the House were the best part of the journey! The House is simply amazing, well located close to the town centre and the beach, the breakfast delicious (specially if you take it in the garden close...

We were so fortunate to be able to stay in the Carriage House for our weekend in May. We arrived at the Inn after two days on the road and were so pleased. Talk about discreet, the only signage is a small oval tucked into the hedge on the street and I just saw it in time to make the...

We arrived to the Baker House after much excitement on viewing the property and booking over the internet. Unfortunately from the moment my 2 sisters and I walked in we were not even greeted by the staff but told to leave our bags and return at 3 pm for check in. Considering we drove from NYC for approx. 3 hours...

We had a four day golf trip to the Hamptons scheduled with a large group and would be traveling to courses between Southampton and East Hampton. We chose the Baker House based on Tripadvisor reviews and were not disappointed. The property is simply beautiful. While I am not a big B&B fan, this felt more like a small hotel that...

. There's quite mixed reviews for the Baker House, and being two people who have experienced a variety of properties around the world, and who have high standards, we were a little wary about whether to make a booking. Plus, the Baker House, like all properties in The Hampton's, are pretty expensive, and no one likes to make an expensive...

Gorgeous boutique hotel / B&B in East Hampton. Had two outdoor pools to use which was great when you couldnt be bothered to go to the beach, although the beach was close. They provide everything you need from towels, chairs and umbrellas for the beach. Also the goodies in the room were top notch, everything from soap to sewing kit....

We loved the rooms and the breakfast! The drinks were on the honor system which was great! Location right on the busy street was noisy and the sidewalk was not well lit for nighttime walking to restaurants. The rear grounds were beautiful and we enjoyed the pool waterfall sounds during breakfast and afternoon wine!

I am sorry to say that I did not read the comments of tripadviser participents :-( Yes it is a nice building , nice environment but the money they charge is definetely Does not justify ! I checked in to room 13 to find I am on the highway called Main Street , the noise was like living over the FDR drive in NYC. The other issue the staff could care less and at $840 a night totally unacceptable . Save your money and go to Nantucket , same price better service and location

My wife and I just stayed at the Baker House this month for a special occasion. While the “street noise” mentioned by numerous reviewers in the main building wasn't an issue for us as we stayed in the Carriage House, the sound of non-stop landscaping was. The Carriage House, which is located away from the street and sits in the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
East Hampton Village's charming Baker House 1650 is regarded by critics and guests alike as the most exclusive and luxurious bed and breakfast in the Hamptons. From the ivy covered walls to the 200 year old wisteria and formal English gardens, the feel is distinctly European. Less expected are state of the art amenities such as flat screen high definition TV's with full cable and DVD players, Bose wave music systems with iPod docks and free wireless internet. The large, beautifully furnished rooms with wood burning fireplaces, William Morris wallpapers, and Frette linens delight visitors, and the lavish bathrooms are enhanced by whirlpools and L'Occitane products. The outdoor infinity-edge pool, with teak chaises for sunbathing, is ideal for unwinding, and the Baker Spa, featuring an endless pool, massage area, steam shower, Jacuzzi and sauna, provides unparalleled relaxation. In the summer, guests receive coveted East Hampton Village beach parking passes, as well as plush beach towels, umbrellas and chairs. The Baker Carriage House, located directly behind the main house, offers even more luxurious accommodations and suites, making it a purely indulgent retreat. The Baker House 1650 is ideally located on the historic village green, within walking distance to the ocean, as well as world-class shopping and restaurants. ... more   less
