Detailed Reviews

The Inn at Holiday Valley is a quintessential ski lodge with 102 rooms in charming Ellicottville, NY. Holiday Valley is one of our favorite ski destinations, so we have stayed at multiple on and off-site properties. Visit lifeloveandcrazy.com to see a comparison of the different properties at the resort. Each place has its unique charm and benefits. That being said, the Inn at Holiday Valley is one of our favorites for a number of reasons.
The staff at The Inn is hands-down the best in town. They are friendly, accommodating and always great to work with. They even arranged for a large-screen TV to be rolled out in the sitting area/bar this year, so we could watch college football bowl games with our family and friends.
Check-in and check-out is always a breeze at The Inn. More often than not, our room is ready before the 4:00 check-in time. This is so nice after a long day of travel and allows us to maximize our time on the hill.
Hot breakfast is included every day which is a nice way to quickly fuel up before hitting the slopes.
The rooms are pretty standard and more than ample for a few nights stay. They have king, (2) queen and suite rooms. All of the rooms include a minifridge, a patio or balcony, a bench (ideal for putting on ski boots) and plenty of hooks to hang your gear on. A lot of the rooms are slope-side and include great views and ski-in, ski-out convenience. Each room comes with its own ski locker for storing equipment right outside your room.
We love the common areas at The Inn. They have a large indoor/outdoor pool, a hot tub and a sauna right off the lobby. Speaking of lobby, The Inn has a welcoming lobby/sitting area with tables/chairs, a cozy fireplace and plenty of games to play with your friends and family. It's a great place to order a pizza and hang with other friends that might be staying in a different room.
As usual, we had another fabulous stay at The Inn at Holiday Valley. We will be back.

While the Inn at Holiday Valley is definitely dated in terms of its finishes, it was still an overall great experience.
THE GOOD
The main benefit of staying here is having direct access to a lift - no need to drive anywhere. Super convenient.
The outdoor heated pool and hot tub is also a nice touch but can be busy
THE NOT SO GOOD
The rooms have little to no soundproofing - we could hear everything through the door. Thankfully it was fairly quiet outside.
While the complimentary breakfast is nice, it’s an environmental disaster - disposable single use plastic everything. Surely they could have real plates, cups, and cutlery? Or at minimum recycling?

I love this place. It is a wonderful little Inn with clean rooms. There are ski picture on the room walls with scenes from the past at Holiday Valley. There are ski lockers outside your room and a large entry way with many hooks and a long bench for prepping for the slopes. The only thing to be aware of is there is no microwaves in the room but there is one in the community area. The lift is steps away from the Inn.

We stayed in July of 2021, and had a great time!
PROs: The rooms were nice sized, and well laid out. We had a second floor, overlooking the golf course, and it was quiet and relaxing. We LOVED the mountain coaster, ski lift (Blue Festival) and the pool at the hotel. Visiting Ellicotville was a delight, it's such s vibrant little town! I highly recommend the sculpture garden. Breakfast at the Inn was nice too. Staff was friendly, even if they were unaware of things that were going on.
CONs: it is so hard to talk to an actual person. Noone answers the phone, and if they do, you are put on hold and bounced from person to person. You have to email and then be called back. The staff does not communicate with each other. We had questions about the festival (posters all over), but no-one could tell us anything about it, except where to get tickets. We had questions about the mountain coaster too. We found out later, from another guest, that our reservation included a few coaster passes. The front desk staff was unaware.
Reserving a pool time is not necessary, but we were told it was. We reserved, but then the pool was so crowded we couldn't find a spot to set our towels. When we asked about it, we were told "Just go back after some people leave. It doesn't matter when you reserved for."
We also had an issue with the clothesline in our shower. I had pulled the line out, but before I could put anything on it, the part that was "attached" to the wall broke loose and hit me in the arm. It left a bruise. Luckily, it didn't hit my head, or a kid, because it would've really hurt someone. It looked like it had not been screwed into the stud, just in the plaster.
I informed the front desk, asking to have someone come fix it, as it was now dangling with sharp screws into our shower. It was not fixed while we were there. I mentioned this to the desk employee when we checked out, and she said she had no idea it was broken. Later on, I emailed to ask about something I believed to have left there, and asked about the clothesline again. The person who responded to my email said (again) they had no idea the line had broken.
Despite the obvious communication issues, and possible attacks by clotheslines, we will go back. Just be aware when you book, that these are issues you may need to navigate.

Thank you! We are very happy that capacity restrictions appear to be a thing of the past and we are able to return to more normal staffing levels and capacities in guest areas. We do offer lodging packages that allow you to add Resort Activities to your stay at a discounted rate or you can book just your lodging as you might have done. I am so glad you enjoyed the Summer Music Festival Weekend and hope you can come again this summer! The Chamber of Commerce just announced the Musical Acts - “The Voices of Classic Rock”, featuring Practically Petty, a Tom Petty tribute band, followed by Asia featuring John Payne with special guests John Elefante, former lead singer of Kansas, and Alex Ligertwood, former lead singer of Santana. It is sure to be another Fantastic weekend

Loved being steps away from the lift. Kids thought the indoor/outdoor pool was amazing and were so happy it was open in February. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, although we wish they would have been wearing masks to make us feel comfortable with Covid still around. Rooms were dated but the location near an uncrowded lift made this place great! Note that if you have a very beginning skier, this may not be the best lift for you.

This hotel was perfect for our weekend ski getaway. We stayed in a 2 queen bed suite garden view. It was literally a 2-minute walk from the ski lift.
The continental breakfast was perfect and had something healthy for everyone's tastes. The hot tub and pool were great to unwind and our son loves swimming in the pool.
The room had a ski locker and the beds were very comfortable. It was quiet at night and we had no issues with sleep disruptions. We will definitely stay here again.

What is sold is not what you find $ 300 a night for a gym which is a small room with 2 machines without even a window. A very small swimming pool. A ridiculous breakfast served on plastic plates with no choice for people with lactose problems, at the entrance of the breakfast room, a disgruntled lady, sitting on a chair that erases your name. We stayed 5 nights I never had breakfast, I paid without using. The staff is rude, who find it hard to leave an extra bar of soap to wash you. For all these reasons I recommend booking elsewhere.

Missing the little things. The rooms were nice, but no microwaves to be seen and only one coffee packet. Their idea of a "Continental Breakfast" was some commercial muffins and coffee in the foyer. The pool was nice too, but towels were sparse and only 4 chairs in the pool area. I understand distancing, but that was a little extreme. No local literature in the room for night-life, restaurants or delivery. And finally, the TV offerings were sparse to lousy. I've stayed at no-nonsense business hotels with better amenities, and for a lot less money.

Thank you for choosing the Inn at Holiday Valley for your visit. Under the guidelines and best practice recommendations we have adjusted our offerings for the time being. We are offering a grab and go breakfast with individually wrapped breakfast pastries in the mornings. We are happy to be able to offer our year 'round indoor/outdoor pool to our guests. Guest are able to sign in for a swim session through the front desk, at that time we issue pool towels and give our guests access to the pool area. I am sorry that you felt as though you could not request more than one pool towel. We have removed printed materials that are not able to be easily sanitized from our guest rooms but do have them available through the front desk. We look forward to a time when we can resume the offerings we have had to adjust or eliminate for the short term. Thank you for your feedback. We hope you will consider staying with us the next time you visit the Ellicottville Area. Katie

We booked the standard room with the ski and stay package. Upon arrival (2hours before check-in) we got our lift tickets and parked near our assigned room. About to hit the slopes, a housekeeping woman noticed my dad was having a difficult time. She told us to hang around for a few minutes to see if she could get us into a handicap room. Turns out, the hotel manager was going to surprise us with that when the room was clean and ready to check in to and it was slope-side! Each room has a lockable ski locker outside. The outdoor pool and hot tub is great. Every staff member wants to make sure guests are completely satisfied. Well done Holiday Valley, we will be back!
