Located off the main road with plenty of parking. It is well lit and easy to get around the hotel with everything labeled for you to see. The room was comfortable, but the bathroom needed some cleaning. Overall a good night.

Hotel's Favourite
The only disappointment was that the pool was under renovation in July 2021. I wasn’t aware before we arrived. The location is perfect with many shopping, restaurants, gasoline, and the highway nearby. Train stations into NYC are nearby and convenient.

everything was good except the toilet and a little bit the bathtub. it looked used. but the room was nice and warm and everything was in its place. the breakfast is the best inn the area for the money better than the diners inn the area.

Due to the noisy AC/Heat unit and the uncomfortable bed I barley slept on my 1 night stay. Also the hallway smelt bad. I would not recommend this hotel. As a Hilton Honors member I was totally disappointed. I was not even welcomed upon check in.

Was very surprised that there was no free hot breakfast. There was a continental breakfast, but at other Hilton properties, we were offered a lovely hot buffet breakfast. It is a nice facility and they went out of their way to put us in a quiet room away from wedding guests.

I very much appreciated the kind staff and their efforts. It is clear that it is still difficult to recruit staff post-COVID and offer a high-quality stay that offers a full dinner and bar menu. I have stayed at other hotels and the lack of staff and typical food/bar items is common. No complaints about the hotel.

Stayed here for one night. Got there late but had done check in on the app but when i got there my digital key was not ready so I had to do physical check in and it took forever. I had two rooms booked and one was an accessible room for my disabled brother and parents. When I got to my room there was an awful smell. It was smoky and dank and just gross. My two young kids even complained. I went down to talk to front desk and they switched my room which was now not close to my family. The new room was better but not great. Also had a dank musty odor that was being masked by a deodorizer. At this point i was too tired to switch so we stayed in the musty room with stained carpets and just felt unclean. This is a Hilton garden inn which is a step above Hampton but seemed more like a run down Hampton Inn but still charging over $300 a night for a hotel that needs a major upgrade and cleaning. Lastly my accessible room was the furthest away from the elevator and lobby so my disabled guests had to travel far to get to their room. I am so disappointed. I am having numerous issues lately with the Hilton brand and I think its time to switch to Marriot because they are not standing by their promise.

It has been years since I’ve given anything less than a 4 star rating… but I genuinely would give this hotel a negative rating if I could. Making a reservation was difficult to begin with. There was only one person working the desk and I was put on hold for an extended period of time. While this is understandable (anyone can become overwhelmed in that scenario), the employee was quite rude, and accused me of “hanging up on them” because I had attempted to call back after the call broke off. At check in, I was handed the card and given no other information. Because I knew of the staffing situation (the employee had brusquely informed me of it herself), I moved on without question. In the morning, I phoned the desk using the room’s telephone in order to confirm the checkout time, but there was no answer. I tried again- no answer. I figured the hotel was still understaffed, and as I’ve worked service before and can sympathize, I didn’t want to cause any more work or trouble and went onto the website to see if the information was available. The information shown stated that there was no fee for early checkout and an additional 65usd charge for checkout after 2, so I planned to leave accordingly. At around 11:30, housekeeping suddenly came asking me why I hadn’t yet checked out. I explained the situation, and immediately after closing the door I received a call from the desk and was told to leave at 12 or I would be charged over 100 dollars and escorted out of the hotel. I once again tried to explain the situation and asked for thirty more minutes to get my luggage together, after which I would leave immediately, and was told “well you should have called the desk to check then”. I explained that I had, and received the reply that “No you didn’t, I was at the desk all morning and you didn’t call”. Again, I tried to express that while I didn’t know why the calls had not gone through I HAD done everything I could to avoid any situations and had no desire to cause trouble, but physically could not get everything together soon enough to leave at the time they had required. I also asked to verify the information on the website (the answer: “I don’t need to look at the website, it doesn’t say that”). The employee told me that “I’m not going to go back and forth with you” and hung up. At this point, I was frustrated, embarrassed, overwhelmed and unsure how to proceed. I phoned customer services, explained the situation and asked for half an hour to get my things together while doing my best to shove my things into my bags. I received no actual aid, and was told things such as “they gave you an extra hour” (they hadn’t; if that were the case, I would have used that time to prepare and leave), “it’s policy, if this were legal enforcement wouldn’t you just understand” (simply insulting, and inappropriate considering that even upon being arrested one is to be informed of their rights) and spoken to in a way so demeaning that I ended up bursting into tears. I expressed as calmly as possible how the issue was now not simply checkout but how I had been treated, and the stay as a whole. Meanwhile, housekeeping came knocking and opened up the door before leaving after I explained I was trying to find a solution. (I do not blame housekeeping at all, they were very kind and just trying to do their jobs). At this point, it was well past 12 and I asked if I could just receive a clear answer as to what was going to happen. No answer was given, and I was just told that I “may have” already been charged, but there was no way to be sure, so I asked if that were the case could I then have the time to get my things together and leave. Again, the answer was that they were unsure. I thanked them and ended the call. Got my things together as quickly as possible, used the 1st floor bathroom to calm down before returning my keys and checking out. The employee at the desk was polite only in words, and I left immediately without any further discussion. I was not charged for overtime, which I honestly don’t know how to feel about because from my perspective it only further proves how unnecessary this entire situation was. I thought a lot about whether or not I should leave this review, but the experience I had affected me deeply. Understaffing is understandable. Everything else that occurred was not. Simply being able to understand why something occurred cannot erase the reality of what actually happened. I was treated as a nuisance and a criminal during what should simply have been a one-night stay. I’m not entirely sure what the answer is (there may not even be one), but I know for certain that I can never comfortably stay at a Hilton Garden Inn again, and I hope nothing like this happens to anyone else.

Daily room rate was changed without notice. Be careful, your room confirmation may not have the daily rates indicated. We were charged $258 a night w/o taxes for a 5 day stay when the rates change daily. General manager never returned calls. Had to go to Hilton Worldwide for resolution. Very poor management. Even when requesting the room to be serviced, had to call down for coffee/cups toiletries to be replenished. My advice, go to the Hampton Inn almost right across the street.

This hotel is in a good, convenient location if you are spending time in the Poughkeepsie/Fishkill area. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. Our room was clean and the check in process easy. However, when we went down for breakfast in the morning, this hotel was unable to provide even minimal service. Every table in the restaurant was piled high with dirty dishes. There were at least a dozen people either standing around or sitting at dirty tables waiting in vain to receive service. Apparently there was only one server who was either overwhelmed or just given up for the day. The continental breakfast offerings had been depleted and not replenished. After waiting around for about 20-25 minutes and not even being approached by the server (many other people who had been waiting, gave up during that time), we simply left and went back to our room. At check out, I just used my food and beverage credit in the hotel's pantry store. What I don't understand is why the manager on duty didn't attempt to remedy this situation. Couldn't they have at least come over and helped to bus back the dirty dishes, seat customers and take orders?? Obviously the manager didn't care in the least about this situation and that reflects poorly on the management of this hotel. I'm a Hilton Diamond member and have never witnessed such a poorly managed breakfast service and will definitely look at staying at a different Hilton property next time I'm in the area.
