First, the hotel is nice, greet fire pits, marshmallows provided for smores, desk staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is completely underwhelming.

The experience which l want to share is the reason for the low rating. About 10 minutes after we left the hotel, got a call on

This was our third October visit in a row to Minnewaska Lodge. We enjoy the location and the view with the fall foliage in bloom, hikes in Minnewaska State Park and dinner at the Mountain Brauhaus German restaurant across the street. However, we have noticed how the service and

I was shocked when I read the reviews of this hotel AFTER we went! I experienced none of the problems that other reviewers complained about. First off I have to say if you are expecting a Mini-Mohunk Mountain house you are bound to be disappointed. Minnewaska Lodge is a simple,

I could not believe, upon stepping onto this property, that this place had good reviews. The front desk attendant was rude and never at the front desk (every time I had to wait 5+ minutes for her to come back), the rooms were awful - I upgraded in advance and somehow ended up wit

Get on your knees to use the fridge. How about a table/stand for it?
Guests shouldn't have to find shock hazard-hair burning damaged hair dryer in room!
What is there to do in the winter ?
Depends on the weather and what you want to do. Hiking swinging skiing, please call us at the Lodge to help you out more with this

My son wants to go fishing, is there any place nearby where we can rent poles and fish?
I would call the lodge and see what they know. They are very helpful, even if you are not staying there. Good luck, Stephen

my family and I are traveling to this lodge soon and am trying to find a good place for horseback riding and jet ski rental preferably at a lake... did you happen to hear of any or see while you were there? It is my sons 16th birthday and he loves the outdoors so we will be going to the state park alot to hike fish etc.. but jet skis are on his list to do! I tried googling but not much coming up. Hoping the Lodge is as nice as everyone says! Looking forward to getting away.
Check with the nearby Mohonk Mountain House for day passes. Lots of activities and right on a beautiful lake.

What is your cancellation policy?
I am not sure. It should be stated on the website or you can call them. I believe they are more flexible with rescheduling than cancellation.

is it possible that they are not doing well enough to pay more money for better help? The area is not as high end as Woodstock or,rhinebeck
We found the "help" to be courteous and responsive. I think many guests' expectations are too high. This is NOT a grand hotel. It is a lodge geared towards outdoor enthusiasts. The prices are high because it is only about an hour north of NYC.
