We stayed at The Chapman House in October for a couple of nights and had a pleasant stay. Great location for local amenities, lovely room and super breakfasts. Our hosts were very welcoming and did everything right to make our stay pleasant. Unfortunately, the room we had was on the side of the house next to a roadway that had...

We planned our trio to the Finger Lakes region of NY state armed with recommendations for wineries (impressive, we returned with three cases), restaurants (virtually not a miss in the week we lingered); activities (no shortage here, awe-inspiring and breathtaking); sights (eye candy everywhere you looked) and the most friend;ly, engaging people. We had a few hints for lodging but...

Found Chapman House by happy accident. Steve (owner/Geneva historian) was a lovely host. The house, built c.1802, is beautifully restored. Loved the special history tour, fancy eggs Benedict and proximity to town. Corner was a lil noisy w/ traffic.

My boyfriend and I recently visited the Chapman House for a relaxing, romantic weekend. My boyfriend had never stayed at a B&B and now he can not wait to return, he was so surprised by the wonderful atmosphere- at checking in, a little later than expected, we were left a personal welcome with a few instructions and we felt instantly...

Dismayed like others that we are not greeted by our hosts. Never had that experience in any other B&B we have stayed in. Like we were a bother. The house itself seems nice and a lot of work has gone into it however is right next to a very busy road. Our room and bathroom were quite charming and pleasant...

We stayed two nights at The Chapman House to visit the Finger Lakes Region and it was beautiful. The location was great - easy walking distance to both the lake and the downtown Geneva area. The house was built in the 1800s, and Steve and Julie have put in a noticeable effort to restore it as closely as possible to...

We were so fortunate to get a room at the Chapman House at the last minute on a visit to Hobart on a busy weekend. Steve was very welcoming and I truly felt that I was in a private home with wonderful hosts. My son and I decided to stay at B&B's whenever possible when we were looking at colleges....

My boyfriend and I were in Geneva for a conference. We found the Chapman House a wonderful stay for our 2 nights there. The hosts were the best you ask for: accommodating, but never overly involved in our stay. They made us a great breakfast every morning and were always punctual with any requests we had. Some people have written...

The location is excellent, the hosts were wonderful, the food was delicious, and the price was reasonable. The Chapman house was a perfect end to a wine tour Saturday. We walked to a nice Irish Pub for dinner, and woke up to a gorgeous morning in Geneva. Homemade french toast, fruit, and coffee was just what we needed to finish...

We stayed one night here on our way from Niagara Falls to Saratoga Springs. At first when arriving we were dismayed by the location of the hotel - right next door to busy main roads, and at the parking where we were left parking on the road outside the hotel. We couldn't fault the communications prior to our stay and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Built in 1800 and located in the center of Geneva's National Register designated Historic District, the Chapman House features spacious rooms, private baths, and a large porch surrounded by beautiful gardens. Guests can enjoy our generous complimentary breakfast in the formal dining room, the porch, or delivered to their room. This landmark is being carefully restored by the owners, guided by extensive scale drawings of the interior and exterior recorded as part of the Federal Government's Historic American Buildings Survey, a project of the WPA in the 1930's. The Chapman house, originally built for the community's first clergy, the Rev. Jedediah Chapman, borders the beautiful campus of Hobart and William Smith Colleges, and is a .5 mile walk from downtown, and over 20 restaurants, taverns and cafes. ... more   less
