After our disasterous attempt to stay in the Victoria Falls River Chalets on our previous visit to Zim. the Main Camp Chalets were very good. They are very old but everything worked and overall was clean. National Parks get very little budget to improve the camp so overall the staff make a good effort. Staff were polite, helpful and keen...

The chalets are basic and are in great need of refurbishment, it looks as if this is happening as we did see re-thatching. With the water shortages in Africa, it feels wasteful to take a bath rather than have the facility of showers.. Restaurant and food is good as it was throughout Botswana and Zimbabwe.

Main Camp is a budget price accommodation offering challets and camping facilities. The beds were comfortable, however the room did not have fitted fan (apparently upon asking at reception, they are able to offer desk fans, but we did not know this at the time) Being September the temperatures were not high however, and it was comfortable in the room....

Main place in the Hwange National Park . We used only camping - a lot of space , some toilets refurbished and clean (note the old and dirty ) . Hot water courtesy service also in abundance. Partially running lights camp sites . It is the choice of places to spend a bit of time. Souvenir shop modest, service clearly...

I stayed at a chalet with twin beds for one night at the Main Camp. The chalet was very spare and austere, but sufficient and serviceable for my needs. I went to Hwange during the winter (June); there was no heat, but found it warm enough with the blankets. There is a "veranda" with two chairs and a table; it's...

We spent 2 nights in Main Camp as part of our 7 day Hwange tour. We had not expected much considering this being a government camp but were very surprised by the setting, the cleanliness, the spacious accommodations, and the quiet provided. The location is in a good game viewing area and represents good value. We had a unit with...

We booked 2 chalets at Main Camp en route from Vic Falls to South Africa. Not only is the price in $US totally mad but the chalets are rundown .Although clean the curtains are shabby and falling off broken rails. No kettle for coffee. No grids on the braai's. The road through the park is so overgrown and basically a...

We stayed at the main camp on our Nomads Tour. We enjoyed our game drive in the park although the jeeps don't offer great visibility as the canopies are old & obscure the viewing. Our guide was very enthusiastic & knowledgable. The accommodation however is very basic. There is obviously no money spent on upkeep or improvement & it reminded...

The camp is so rundown. The rondawel we were booked into was a problem to get into. THE KEEY JUST KEPT TURNING. Once we got in, the fridge was a disgusting rusting mess and the ceiling fan did not work. We were then shown another rondawel and the fan only had two of the three bades! The next room was...

Had a wonderful weekend in this park staying on a campsite for one night and in the main camp the next night. George on the reception desk was friendly, helpful and efficient. Hope to visit again soon.
