A really nice camp, good location with only Wilderness vehicles allowed, a great and very busy waterhole in front of the camp, great food, good rooms and good guides. Wilderness rooms tend to be quite large and they are well spaced out and quiet. The camp is small enough to feel intimate. Staff are friendly, adhered to dietary requests and...

Little Makalolo is a lovely traditional safari property with well trained staff who were completely committed to making sure we had a wonderful stay. The tents were very comfortable but did not have charging stations for camera batteries etc. – these were located in the common area – not a huge inconvenience but a bit of extra fuss. There had...

Dear Edward068, Thank you for your wonderful review, we are thrilled to hear what a great time you had with us and hope the “communal” charging station was not too much of an inconvenience. This is a really great lodge, typical of Wildernes Safaris. I was greeted at Vic Falls airport off the flight from RSA and ushered through passport control like VIP politician. The game drive starts from the bush airstrip and the wildkife viewing is excellent. The lodge is comfotable, food excellent and the staff are probably the best of any lodge...

This park is absolutely beautiful and even though there are no rivers, the privately maintained park has developed a system of waterholes (pumped from wells by solar). Our guides were extremely informative and knowledgable and of the four game lodges we visited this was the best. Over a period of days, our guides were able to find a pride of...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Charming and intimate, Little Makalolo's location in the south-east of Hwange lends it a sense of seclusion and remoteness. Nestled into the treeline, the camp overlooks a productive waterhole that draws large numbers of wildlife, observed up close from the log-pile hide. Elephant, buffalo, giraffe and zebra are regular visitors, while special sightings include sable, roan and eland. The area is best explored on game drives and guided walks, with special extras like an unexpected pizza or a night spent under the stars on the Madison Pan star-bed platform. • 6 tents (1 family) • game drives • nature walks • Madison Pan star-bed • log-pile hide • village visits ... more   less
