Hi Guys, thanks so much for your positive review. It's always a bonus when the wildlife comes to visit our guests! It was lovely having you for so long...we hope you'll send your friends and come and visit again. (sorry about Smelly Sprocket....he gets washed every week but just looooves to roll in whatever the wildlife leaves behind!!)

This Camp is rustic, nestled away amongst the wildlife. The staff are very helpful and the Camp manager Tracy is a superb hostess going beyond her responsibilities to ensure you enjoy your stay. If you need anything Tracy can most probably arrange it. Lovely atmosphere with the locals at the pool bar. We will definitely be back!

Hi, So glad you guys enjoyed and that the locals kept you amused....the wildlife interaction is something special isn't it? 10 out of 10 to my Manager Tracy for her efforts. Look forward to seeing you again soon!

The place relocated from a site which was a few miles up. The flavor and tradition has been kept. Enjoy a cool showed on a hot night while watching stars and moon. Accommodation is more on the wild side and almost similar to camping. Sprocket the resident black dog is the only item to give you homely sanity back. Nice...

Great staff, great views, great wildlife, great place... If staying in Kariba for one night or one month, Warthogs is the place to call home... with the twist of having zebra pets and elephants visitors :-) Best place in Kariba to stay, whether camping (with your own tent or in theirs), or in a chalet at budget price. Hips of...

Hi Maya, Thanks for the review. It was great having you for so long. You certainly got to experience the full variety of what goes on at Warthogs, from wildlife (ele's, hippo, buffalo, zebra), to wild life (beerfests, birthdays, wednesdays, rugby days!). That is what Warthogs is all about...enjoying everything that Kariba life has to offer! We look forward to...

Good stopover for us. Right next to the lake, quiet at night aside from the local hippo. Nice bar and very basic but functional ablutions. Good stop if you are needing a place for the border crossing or arriving / departing the ferry. Helpful staff.

Thanks guys! It's always relaxing when the hippos serenade us. And you're right...what better place to stop before or after the border crossing as we are only 10 minutes from the border. Even more of a bonus...if you are travelling to Mana and the Zambezi Valley you can avoid pretty much all the road blocks in Zimbabwe by coming into...

I stayed in warthogs with 17 of my friends. From the moment I arrived I felt at home. The staff were absolutely amazing and so helpful. Not long after stepping off the bus we saw elephants , zebras , hippos and crocodiles in the lake in front of the bar. The showers were hot and powerful and there was excellent...

This is a fab place with a great view to the lake kariba and watching some of the big 5s for free. I really enjoyed my stay and I wished I could have stayed longer. The manager, Tracy was very helpful and generous, I paid for the camping and she put me in the safari tent for the same price....

I'm glad you enjoyed...that's our aim! The wildlife was obviously performing well for us while you were there too. It's unfortunate that our economy forces food prices up...an ongoing battle we have. we'll try our best to keep prices competetive.

This camping is a really great one to stay in along your route, which is also really affordable. The view is really nice especially when you seat at the bar or when you are in the small pool. You can see the hippos in the lake, the elephants that are coming through the camping and within your own camp (needs...

Thanks for your review Rebecca and glad you enjoyed your stay. We've certainly had our share of elephants through camp this year and the zebras have been closer than ever....even coming right into the bar once or twice. We're sorry to hear that the food was not so great. I do agree that in relation to places like South Africa,...

This is a wonderful campsite on the shores of lake kariba. Many elephants and hippos walk through the campsite at night. The bar is cosy and the staff is helpful. Summer time is very hot so its best to stay at the lounge and order some delicious food and a couple of Mosi. :)

Thanks Quentin. You're right when you say it's hot! But this year has beem totally mad. We've had temperatures of 48 and 50 degrees. Unbearable even for us locals! So guys if you're planning to visit Kariba make sure you are ready for the heat and bring your swimming stuff...it's going to be a scorcher this year!

Stayed a couple of nights here - very relaxing place by the lake. Zebras and elephants walked through the camp - drinking one evening and turned round to see a huge bull elephant not twenty feet away. Chalet was fine - mosquito nets on beds, shower under the stars - without being great. Perhaps a little overpriced, but the location...

Hi. Thanks for the review....hope the elephant didn't get in your way too much! Sorry about the "loud" locals...some lose their ettiquette after a few but no harm ever intended. They did get a reprimand from me though for disturbing your evening. Unfortunately Zim prices do seem a bit steep these days - we've actually brought our prices DOWN this...
