Positives: room and bed very comfortable, probably the most comfortable bed I’ve had in an hotel. Lovely balcony and view of the river, top quality tea/coffee and toiletries in the room. Negatives: Noisy plumbing, when the people next door got up at 5:30am I had to as well. Shower room had an odd smell. Not able to cater very well for coeliacs - limited gluten free options at breakfast and no bread that I could eat. To be fair, I normally inform hotels when I book, but it’s been so long since I had this issue I stopped a while ago. Maybe if I had, they would have been better prepared.
We have just had a lovely weekend at the Swan on the River Thames. We received a very warm welcome. Our room was clean and very cosy with all we needed and more and the general vibe and atmosphere of the hotel, was in our opinion, relaxed and friendly, but at the same time, efficient and organised. A special mention to Paul the manager who looked after us very well during our stay and to Judy on reception who was really helpful and patient with all my endless questions at the time of booking! Thank you .
My wife and I were staying at the Boleyn hotel opposite but they only served curry so we ate at the swan on the first night, we enjoyed the sharing bbq it was good but not great , enquired about there rooms but they were expensive, the swan sits on the edge of the river Thames .
Enjoyed a fantastic lunch here on a very fast visit to the UK. The chips were by far the best that I have had in a long time. Beautiful sunny day but still a hit too brisk to sit outside along the river. Would imagine that would be the perfect spot to be on a warmer day. Boats on the Thames and pretty swans gliding by…what’s not to love?! Would definitely like to come back and give the hotel a try next time! Friendly and welcoming staff and inviting pub atmosphere.
We stayed here while visiting our daughter and we’re delighted at the tasteful room, wonderful service and the best Sunday Roast . The staff were so helpful and the position on river, the perfect start to our day. Will definitely be back
Loved this hotel. Warm friendly & helpful staff. Beautiful location close to the town and the thames path. Room was clean and had a river view. Everything you could need in the room. Dog friendly and the dogs loved their bed provided in the room. Thankyou 😃
Absolutely gorgeous place. Parking outside the front which makes life easier. The atmosphere is just fabulous and the food is stunning. It isn’t cheap but you leave feeling it was worth the money. An absolutely beautiful view out to the river. I would highly recommend.
Had a great night's stay at this hotel full of character on the river. The bedroom of 'comfy' lived up to its name and i had a very restful nights sleep. The bed was most comfortable. Try to get a room with a view of the river if you can - i saw 12 swans go past, so the hotel certainly lived up to its name too. The staff are all very friendly, service is good and the food is superb. I intend to return with my husband and do a walk along the river. Don't change a thing!
While I'm just on holiday right now I'm reminiscing about other trips we took in the last year. One of them to Staines upon Thames and this nice hotel / BnB. We had the Sunday lunch there which was great. Overall, a lovely experience. Everything felt comfortable and cozy.
Great location on the river, served good food, the only downside was parking which was permit based if you could find a space, afternoon staff were not the best but the evening staff were really good with our room being quiet small but adequate
