Site 39 is very level, gravel or dirt pad, water and electric, partial to full sun. There is a wonderful creek, where you can tube down, behind the site and the site is in between to bath/shower houses. The bath/shower house by the pool had minimal water pressure and needed some cleaning. However, with everyone coming from the pool to change those bathrooms are in constant use throughout the day.

We only stayed one night on our way to Maine, but the campground seemed very kid friendly and clean.

I booked 3 nights in a Kamping Kabin and can't give enough praise to this location! It was without a doubt the nicest campground I've ever stayed at! The grounds were kept immaculate, the folks maintaining it were friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were a huge step above many I've stayed at and the cabin was very comfortable. We're definitely going back! Thank you for a great visit!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were impressed by the variety of accommodations, friendly staff, cleanliness of the grounds and buildings, and our experience at the restaurant, Miner's Table (shoutout to the chef). And, great fishing in the West Canada Creek just outside our RV door. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Dr. Renee, who was extremely personable and such a delight. She even shared her dessert with us. We most definitely will visit again!!

We have visited this KOA several times and this was not the experience we are used too. We decided to rent a solar cabin. It was quaint, clean, stocked with dollar store dishes and garage sale decor. There were linens but only flat sheets so bring a fitted sheet unless you want to sleep on a plastic mattress pad. There was plenty of paper towels, dish soap, tissues, and there was even a bit of coffee and some filters. We were shocked to see a tiny college size refrigerator and had to resort to ice in our cooler for some of our food. The tv didn't work, but they sent someone right over to fix it. Internet was spotty at best. We were sure we overpaid for what we got and asked for a detailed receipt but the manager couldn't figure out how to print one out. So we have no idea how much will be charged to our account. We know it will be upwards of $700! So we decided to book a campsite for next year only to find the price went from $63 a night to $83 a night, with a $25 non-refundable feel to 'lock in' our site! Because we are with a group, we paid it but reluctantly. You have successfully priced us out of this park. We will all come back next year, only because we have already paid, but it certainly will be our last. Oh, and the icing on the cake... we went to our friends site for dinner and someone helped themselves to all of our firewood, every last log.

We were there for two nights. It was too crowded. We had rented a tent site and the tents were literally next to each other. There was no privacy, you could hear each other without even listening 😉
The KOA staff was very friendly and accommodating. The manager went out of the way to help us charge our EV. Thanks you!
They had live music, breakfast, ice cream and bar coach in the park area. Several fire pits and games. Nice atmosphere more Glamping than Camping.
We enjoyed our stay!

We also visited the mining area. Fun activities for families.

We recently stayed here in one of the astronomy cabins. We had some issues with the cabin and the telescope was not setup or clean. Once it was cleaned it still did not work properly. The people in the other cabin with a telescope also was unable to utilize it. While staying there the staff was unable to help. I have tried to reach out to the management but have not received any reply in several days. While our overall stay was a three to four , the response from the managers has been awful so I have to overall give a 2.

Sites were way too small for us. Pool was very small. This campground was Over priced for what you get. Bathrooms by pool need more attention. One positive note, the fireworks were very nice on Saturday night. This place was not for us, so we wont be back.

The park was a very fun place. It was very clean. The worker were extremely friendly and helpful. We had 3 power outages while there the 2 days. It caused my air conditioner to freeze up and shut down. The office loaned us a fan to get through the last night. Wi-Fi was pretty much useless but I didn’t camp to be on my phone anyway so no big deal. The food from the restaurant was amazing and very generous portions. I would recommend this koa.

My family recently stayed at the Herkimer KOA - we were lucky to secure site 98, which was a "deluxe" tent site along West Canada Creek. The site was right on the water, with plenty of trees to hang a tarp for added cover. I would definitely reserve sites 97-100 anytime - as these sites were close to the bathrooms, near a water supply, but far away from the main area (the pool, the main building). Our favorite part was tubing down the creek. It was nice to have a site with a picnic table, swing for two, fire pit w/cooking grate - and PLENTY of room between neighboring sites.

We have stayed at the Herkimer KOA for 16 years during the 4th of July holiday and have decided to not return due to several disappointing changes made under new management (which we heard changed recently). Having made our reservations a full year in advance, upon arrival we were disappointed to learn full hookup no longer includes cable and we were charged a new $6/day resort fee (this was on top of $130/night for an average site and the initial $25 to hold our spot). KOA should be embarrassed. Those with existing reservations should have been informed of these changes. The new Garden (which I heard costed several hundred thousands to build) is visually beautiful but I question the concept and why a playground was removed from that area and the secondary playground at the far end of the park was not upgraded. In prior years the centrally located playground was extensively used by children, especially the basketball court. The new Garden offers $9 beers and $5 for one scoop of ice cream (ouch!). Most reasonably middle income adults bring their own beverages to camp and I did not see many people enjoying the space since there was nothing for kids to do in that area. In prior years the ice cream social cost was $1/scoop. My son rented the Aries lodge at a cost of over $300/night. It was unfortunate it included numerous dead flies, the trash bucket was not properly cleaned out, the outside electrical outlet did not work so he couldn't sit outside and use the baby monitor, they had to ask for coffee filters three times and were given Kerig pods for a drip maker, the most disappointing was finding the telescope did not work, the wifi with Roku provided only 2 channels and the cushion on the swinging deck chair was dirty and ripped beyond repair (quite the eye sore). The lodge did not measure up to resort level. It does not seem reasonable for ownership to spend several millions on the new Hill Top sites and additional thousands on the "beer" Garden and not use funds for badly needed upgrades on the existing structures and grounds. The upkeep of the vegetable garden was non-existent. The kids' activities could use more direction from the Activity Director who seemed more comfortable sitting behind a table collecting money then trying to provide organization and being hands on with each activity. Having 20 kids plus parents trying to do sand art at one table was utterly insane. Bingo included 4 rounds and the first game had two winners which had to do paper, scissors, rock to see who gets the single prize - can you imagine the disappointment if this had been two children! It was very odd to us that the 4th of July bike parade was held on July 1st??? The Assistant Manager (I think his name is Josh) eagerly approached us and asked for feedback which we gladly provided very professionally. Although, after doing so the next day he was less than friendly. When asked if there would be activities that day, his reply was "maybe we will, maybe we won't". The Associate in the office at that time mentioned rain would be a factor which I completely understood and upon that Josh reminded me the environment needed the rain. I couldn't believe I was being schooled in the environment. Maintenance of the grounds has declined over the years, we saw dead trees that pose safety issues. Billing procedures are a concern. We paid the balance of our son's lodge prior to his arrival but he was charged an additional $46 when checking in. Long story but after checking on this twice the office manager was not able to explain the additional amount so they ended up refunding it. The Associate in the office at that time was wonderful (I wish I had her name) and I also want to give a shout out to Jimmy and Colin, both were very helpful and friendly.
