Was visiting New Paltz abt 10-15 mins away for a wedding. Close to Poughkeepsie also (10mins ). Hotel was clean & cozy. Wish there was a bit more selection for breakfast but was more than satisfying. Now let me tell u abt the staff. Sylvia at fr desk the BEST. Not only personable but also saved me her Newspaper at the end of the day. Wat a gal! Very helpful also. Entire staff was nice. Will def stay again when visiting relatives.

Stayed here with 2 medium-sized dogs & my husband. I was impressed with the cleanliness & spaciousness of the room. Staff was pleasant. Organic milk at breakfast bar. Very quiet at night so we enjoyed good sleep here.

Our stay at the SureStay was nice. The rooms were quiet. Breakfast was good. My only complaint was the dirty floor in the room. They need to mop the floors not just dust them. Other than that, the room was spacious.

This is my first time staying at this hotel. Very clean rooms Staff is friendly The main reason I stayed here is because it is pet friendly. I do recommend staying at this hotel. I already booked a room fir the beginning of December fir my birthday weekend Also Christmas weekend. We were very happy with our stay at the Sure Stay Best Western Hotel Highland, NY

we had 3 rooms booked for 3 nights each and everything went smoothly. staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good, the family enjoyed sitting in the lounge area before we got our day started and the rooms were clean.

I chose this hotel, not only for its location, but because they have laundry facilities. Which you need when travelling. Check in was easy, plenty of parking, quiet even though near the highway, clean and comfy rooms. What I don’t look for in a hotel is a five star breakfast. I’m always surprised when people complain about the free breakfast. What do they expect! We were quite happy with our juice, coffee, yogurt, and cereal, fresh fruit. If I wanted a full breakfast I’d go to a restaurant. I think it’s nice that the smaller hotels offer a bite to eat in the morning. The big hotels certainly don’t do that. If we’re ever back in the area, I will be staying here!

Really nice newer hotel. Our room was clean and we liked that the floors were vinyl wood grain versus carpeted. Our bed was comfortable and the room had a Keurig coffee machine. The hotel was quiet and in a safe area. Breakfast was typical for this price range - waffles, yogurt, muffins, oatmeal/cereal, but no toaster. Microwavesble bagel egg sandwiches . Only downside was its two floors and there’s no elevator.

Room clean, well kept; $ good (met gov't allowed rates); "Continental breakfast" was more like a tiny island - very minimal. If I had the time I would have eaten elsewhere. Coffee esp. was bad - so weak it looked like tea (2 days in row).

My wife and I made a reservation 2 weeks in advance. We were told early check is available but that was not the case. The receptionist who took our reservation failed to notated a pet friendly room...which was the only reason we made the reservation. Upon checking out the bill was 30 bucks more than was quoted. The receptionist refused to honor the price. Would not stay again! P.S. chewy bars do not constitute breakfast! Ridiculous

We just want to respond to the points you have posted to give an opportunity for other travelers to understand standard hotel practices and procedures. We offer early check in based on availability. Check out time is 11 a.m. Check in is 3:00 p.m. We cannot "guarantee" an early check in two weeks in advance. We can only entertain early check in on the day of arrival and only after the specific room type being requested for early check in is cleaned and inspected. Due to volume, the earliest times we had available for any early check-ins on the day in question was around 2:00 p.m. It is my understanding that when originally making your reservation you claim that you informed the front desk agent that you would be bringing a dog. The policy is to make certain to make a note in the reservation that a dog will be coming and to advise the guest that there IS a pet fee. However, sometimes, people make a mistake and the pet fee you were charged was refunded on July 17th giving you the benefit of the doubt that we had made the error. It is my understanding that while here, you made certain to emphatically state that the reason you chose our hotel was because we allowed dogs and not many places do. That being said, it is standard practice for hotels that do allow dogs to charge a pet fee. While we may not offer the same breakfast items that a full service Best Western does, to insinuate that all we have available for our guests for breakfast are chewy bars is inaccurate. We have fresh fruit, oatmeal, a variety of cereals, yogurts, muffins, pastries, fruit cups, juices, milk, and frozen breakfast sandwiches as well as coffee, cocoa and several tea options.

A very nice, clean snd comfortable hotel. A little off the thruway but worth the extra 5 mins it takes. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and really make you feel welcome. The rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable. Breakfast bar was limited but what they had was good.
