Hideout is my favourite and go to spot in Ghana. It always feels like coming home. Brought family with me this time, some who had been there before and others who hadn't. They loved it of course! How could you not?? Spent a few weeks there just relaxing, enjoying the weather, the beach, the company of the amazing staff and...

I came here with other friends on a day trip from Busua. Arriving at the lodge from the Butre village is very charming. The Hideout Lodge is a gem, quiet and relaxing place to chill out, have walks, sunbath and swim and in a very natural and out of the track spot. I also enjoyed the fresh coconut and a...

What a hidden treasure this place is. The beach front is pristine and absent of tourist. The manager and staff are absolutely the best ambassadors of Ghana and the region. The accommodations are clean and comfortable, not elaborate or high end, but totally fitting the Butre beach area. The food was wonderful and a nice variety. I would highly recommend...

My wife and I walked here from Busua beach for a look at Butre. The village is really nice, and the beach lovely. The hideout is found by crossing a rickidy wooden bridge over the estuary. The grounds are lovely and the beach views fantastic. We only stayed for lunch, but the food was probably the nicest we ate in...

I visited the Hideout in December for a week with my family and stayed in the house at the lodge which is set apart about 100m from the rest of the accommodation and 20m from the sand. The location is remote with a 30-40 drive down a dirt track but when you are there it is very beautiful with a...

I've stayed in a lot of places on Ghana's coast, but The Hideout is my favorite! George and company are ace! Great food, stunning location, and great activities around. My friend and I signed up to do the canoe ride which was really wonderful and hiking to the top of the nearby fort offers some really great views. Staff are...

I've been coming and going to Ghana for years and have travelled extensively to all it's corners. The truth: there is no place like Hideout Lodge. Going to Hideout is like coming home. After you have travelled far and long, it is the place that you go and feel relaxed, welcome, and free. As you can see from the reviews,...

Hideout lodge is efficiently run by George, a Ghanaian, as the Swedish owner has been away studying for the past 2 years. We decided to rent the 2 bed villa, presumably once the owner's home, for ourselves and our 2 daughters. It is a spacious detached property, well situated a little way from the hotel with sea views. It felt...

I did a day's trip on a Ghana public holiday to the hideout for the beach and just to get a calm place. It is about 45min drive from Takoradi. About 20 mins after getting of the main highway. The access road to the lodge is good even though it's not tarred. I will recommend taking 4x4 vehicle. Hideout is...
