The rooms are simple but nice, clean and comfortable. AC and free WiFi. The terrace over the Niger river is wonderful. The breakfast, even it was an extra, was not good. The coffee was horrible, actually. The service was polite, but not very effective.

Our stay in Hambe hotel was amazing. The location, just next to the Niger river, is exceptional. Food is incredible, especially the home grown vegetables and porc. Rooms are very clean and spacious. Not to mention that the owner and his wife are very thoughtful and can organize for you trips to visit Segou and the neighborhood. I highly recommend.

While the location is great...right on the Niger River, the rooms, although relatively clean, were damp and musty. The air conditioner didn't work the first night (it kept shutting off after 5 minutes....all....night)....and the door was a constant battle to lock and unlock because of poor workmanship. Mosquito nets were almost too short to tuck into the bed and actually...

Finding this jewel on the banks of the Niger was one of the highlights of my recent visit to the Festival on the Niger. Amicée and Ruth have built the place with love, care and an impressive attention to detail; the whole place is built like an old Sahelian village, with winding paths through lush gardens, up and down stairs...

We stayed twice in the Hotel Bajidala and loved it. We stayed first when we were heading to Dogon Country and then on the way back from Dogon, TB2, Mopti etc. The room was clean and neat, the gardens beautiful, the owner very friendly, the food wonderful. I highly recommend it. It is situated by the river away from the...

We were originally slated to stay at another hotel in Segou but we looking for something a bit more original and this fit the bill! The hotel is more bed and breakfast than hotel. The architecture and rooms are charming and the grounds are beautifully located near the bank of the Niger River. The meals are served in the courtyard...

The colonial pig has disappeared and is replaced by the most charming host you can imaging. Very well styled and comfortable. Splendid Niger view from the terrace.

Espace Bajidala is a very nice guesthouse inside an art gallery superbly run by Michel. All rooms are furnished with pieces of art made by local artists, very nice and colorful, one different from the other. The place is very close to the Niger river, and the atmosphere is very romantic and charmful. It is not a real hotel, in...

The review written by LeFranc09 in March 2009 is at odds with our own experience. We stayed in Bajidala for one night and wished we had stayed longer. We enjoyed every minute of our time there! Michel, the owner, welcomed us in a very warmhearted way. We arrived in the early afternoon and Michel was planning to visit some Malian...

Initially when we arrived at Espace Bajidala the French host was gracious and invited us to visit his interesting courtyard. He asked his employee, Ousmane, to show us around. Just a few moments later, Ousmane informed us we need to pay to visit the grounds. While we were surprised, we told him that we were actually interested in checking out...
