Luke’s Place, located on the South side of Vilanculos, is in the heart of the Bazaruto Archipelago. We offer self-catering, well-appointed and fully equipped cottages, right on the beach. The cottages are stocked with Tea, Coffee, Milk and Bottled water. Bath sheets; beach towels and soap are included. We also offer shuttle facilities to and from the airport. The cottages have stunning views of the ocean and when the tide is in, the sound of the lapping waves is a tranquil way to retire or to wake up.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
Linda not only collected us from our previous lodgings and delivered us to the airport but also stopped at the shops so that we could buy groceries; she ordered food when required and put us in touch with her fresh fish supplier so we knew that we could trust the quality and price. We were able to indulge our desire to feast on seafood, coconuts from her trees, and relax in her lush private garden. With only two cottages sharing a pool, we had it to ourselves most of the time. The leisure furniture was comfortable - a most necessary asset for a holiday near the sea. Although the kitchen surrounded the bed, it did not intrude or reduce the comfort. The bed linen is both pretty and comfortable, suited to the climate.
Linda's staff were equally friendly and obliging, without expecting a reward. This made for a most relaxing stay. To top it all the daily rate is most affordable!
The wifi connection was weak (a local problem) and there was some noise from passers-by, but that would not put us off from repeat visits every time we travel to Vilanculos.

We loved our stay at Luke's Place. Our chalet was so tastefully done, from comfy beds with lovely linen, a lovely well stocked little kitchen, a spacious bathroom and perfect little verandah overlooking a beautiful garden amoungst the coconut trees. The location was perfect, very central, serene & on the beach front. The view was spectacular and we witnessed the most amazing sunrises and sunsets. Our long walks on the beach every day were special, enjoyed even more when we witnessed the fishing boats and fishermen coming in with their daily catch. Our hosts Linda & Louis were brilliant and so accommodating in every way. Thank you both! We will be back for sure!

Accommodation is very comfortable well equipped for self catering, the style is in keeping with mozambican surrounds, palm trees white sand and azure blue sea. Which is on your doorstep. A swimming pool in the garden. A little piece of paradise with wonderful hosts.

We visited Luke's place in April 2022 with our little daughter. She is 1 year and 3 month and she had the best time of her life, as we did! In our chalet you woke up listening to he waves and palm tree leafs in the wind. It was big enough to put our daughters camp Cot in easily. Our beds were super comfy with nice soft linen, a well stocked little kitchen for coffee in bed while the sun rises and a nice size bathroom. The verandah is overlooking a beautiful tasteful garden. You literally fall out of bed and can go for a walk along the white beach. The pool is a great way to cool down if necessary. We also had the pleasure to do a few island trips to the most beautiful white sand islands I have ever seen in my life. Deep sea fishing with a brand new boat is another option of enjoying your stay. Our hosts Linda & Louis were amazing. We felt home away from home during our stay and we can't wait to come back!

We went to Linda and Louis’ place in Vilanculos for the second year running and were once again not disappointed.
The chalets and grounds are always very well maintained and manicured. Staff are always very friendly and ready to help and assist us make our stay a memorable one, even on public holidays.
The trip to the Magaruque island was once again a day spent in heaven where Pedro took us early enough to catch the thatched Lapa and we snorkeled the whole day and bathed in the sun. On the way back we went flamingo spotting and found them on the south of the Island, these beautiful creatures...

We, a family of four (2 adult kids), really loved our time at Luke’s Place. The two chalets had all you needed in the kitchenette. The garden is absolutely fabulous with a barbecue place and a private pool as well aa direct access to the beach. Linda will do everything to make you feel at home and get the best out of your stay: from tips about shopping to organizing trips to the islands and even providing you with fish for the barbecue (thank you so much!). We can’t wait to see the “add on” Linda and Louis are building next door to accommodate more people in this lovely place. We will be back!

The bungalows are incredibly beautiful, the beach is breathtaking and Linda is the most gracious host. Tucked in a quiet beach, is the ideal place if you want peace and comfort away from the most bustling, touristy beaches. What we loved the most was the attention to details: from the beautiful furnishing to the perfectly stocked kitchenette, And even offering to drive us to the shops on the way from the airport, Linda exceeded our expectations in every way.

Luke's Place have got it right, it's Exceptional. The gardens are beautiful and immaculate and so are the units. Clean tastefully decorated, spotless with everything you need and it works. Great showers with pressure and hot water, the linen is soft and good quality well looked after. Pool and braai area was spotless and inviting. A very good stay relaxing with great service and just walk onto the beach.

A wonderful place, comfortable, clean. In a beautiful garden there are 2 bungalows decorated with great attention to detail and with a fantastic view of the beach and sea. The two huts share the pool, but as one of them was unoccupied we had it to ourselves.
