This is a great place to stay and to help support the local community. We stayed in the "Smiling Dolphin" house and had a beautiful sea and beach views every morning from the bedroom. The level of service from Dalton and his team was second to none with a smooth airport pickup and return. The house does not have AC but with its high ceiling and airy room layout, it was never required. The bed has a full mosquito net to keep you bite free. There are basic cooking facilities available with an oven and stove in a small kitchen area. Washing for clothes is available on-site and taken care of by the team. An amazing treat is to have daily breakfast while either sitting on your own balcony with the view out to the ocean, or actually have breakfast right at the beach with these amazing views!
Thank you to Dalton and his team for taking care of our every need and making it a special memory.

Where do I start! From start to finish, Dalton made this birthday surprise trip for my husband a complete success. I wanted to take him Bazaruto and Bengarri islands for the sand dunes, snorkeling and spectacularly calm and beautiful waters. I was told that all bookings could be done when I arrived (the planner in me was on edge but I knew they were the experts). We were picked up from the airport and shown a wonderful bungalow with fantastic views of the ocean. Dalton told us what time to be ready for the Island tour and it was set. We went to a nearby restaurant for lunch one of the days and the food was delicious. Dalton and his staff also prepared a dinner on the night of my husband's birthday as well (while he thoroughly enjoyed it). There was a slight confusion with our bungalow and we had to move to another one - the staff moved all the items when we were on the tour (this was discussed with us prior to leaving for the day) and they even blew up balloons! It was truly a wonderful and special trip.

Vilancool is exactly that...cool! We stayed in the three-bedroom family beach cottage which had two bedrooms, living room/dining room, all with an amazing view of the ocean, which is literally ten meters from the cottage. Waking up to an amazing view of the sunrise while still lying in bed was wonderful. The ocean was just ten meters from our doorstep at high tide, and at low tide you can walk about 150 meters out on the sand past the moored dhows waiting for the tide to come back in.

Dalton is a friendly and helpful property manager, and he provided useful information on things to do during our four day stay. The proceeds from Vilancool go to support the community! What a great way to enjoy a vacation while giving back to the locals. Vilancool has kite surfing, paddle boards and fat tire bicycles for rent, or just sit in front of the bar with a (vilan)cool drink while you watch the fishermen sail their dhows between the bazaruto islands. We also liked that we could buy freshly caught fish, crabs, shrimps from the fishermen and women to cook at the cottage. if cooking is not your thing, you can walk 7 minutes along the beach to the Baobab Beach restaurant, or to Zita's for an authentic and delicious home cooked Moz' meal. Totally recommend this place!

Many thanks for this flattering review. Great that you really liked your stay at our non-profit project to support the local community. And we are very proud to have such a great team and every guests helps to make their and their family lives better and better. Currently we are using the money you spend to send a kid of Gloria (the cleaning woman) to the school and paying the school fees. As soon as we get more bookings, next thing will be to build a solid house for Dalton and family. As you said, how great is it to make holidays while doing something good. However, since „Service“ is rated with only 4 stars by you we are happy to learn where or how we can improve - please just send us an email on hello@vilancool.com, many thanks. Many thanks for everything. Team of VilanCool

We don't know what was better : the perfect location directly at the beach, the beautiful garden and tastefully designed accommodation or the very helpful and friendly staff. Dalton and his team were simply great, they explained us a lot about the area, taught us some phrases of the local language and our kids will miss playing football with them. VilanCool turned out to be the perfect place to relax and explore the amazing surroundings.

Dalton and Candy absolutely made this place for us. Warm welcoming atmosphere felt like we was really in touch with local people and traditions. My Portuguese is terrible, Dalton taught us useful phrases, how to cook traditional meals, even shared local breakfasts with us at no extra cost except to learn and share!

He’s warmth and friendliness made us feel incredibly welcome and grateful to have met him!

The accommodation was incredible spacious clean magical view of the beach and sunrise.

We, a family of three, were here in December and returned for two more nights on January the 1st. Our second arrival was unplanned, as our accomodation in Inhassoro did not work out. Yet Dalton accommodated us without problems and organised any of our last minute requests - even when four more of our friends turned out unexpectedly. All the staff was nice and helpful all the time and the place is clean and beautifully located. Would recommend this place!!

VilanCool made our first visit to Mozambique an incredible experience! Dalton and his staff were welcoming, helpful, proactive, and kind - they made sure we had everything we needed during our stay, answered our many questions, and were fun and interesting to chat with. The VilanCool team also helped us arrange transportation around Vilankulo, book a day tour to the beautiful Bazaruto archipelago, recommend spots for dinner (we went to Leopoldina’s 2 nights in a row!), and more. Highly recommend staying here for a laid back, beach-side experience with friendly people. Thank you, VilanCool!

We feel so lucky to have happened on Vilancool. Our family of 4 (including both a teenager and a toddler) spent Christmas there 2021 and absolutely loved it. The staff is more than attentive and we were so well taken care of. Dalton, Nercio, Fernando and all the crew were extremely helpful and Dalton even got us some fresh coconuts the day we left! We also fell in love with Smiley the hotel dog. Our little house was idyllic and the part of the beach that Vilancool sits on is the most beautiful part in Vilanculos. The beach and the water were perfect but the warm and welcoming staff were the best part of the stay! We were so sad to leave!

We were in VilanCool this May 2024, really highly recommended. We stayed in the Flamingo cabin, with a nice ocean view from the bedroom and balcony. The balcony was very comfortable, we had breakfast and lunch there. A garden space full of palm trees, cared for, visited by butterflies and birds. A few steps and already the sea, permanent view of the typical dhows. And to highlight, his manager and wife: Dalton and Candy. Dalton was constantly attentive to everything, he even prepared us rice with coconut milk, and Candy taught us how to cook it. Dalton solves everything: transfers, shopping, tours, activity suggestions, it is a big plus in Vilancool. Candy also makes sure that the daily cleaning is done. A place to enjoy, and feel very safe!

Wonderful place. Stunning location on the expansive and unspoilt beach. Simple beach huts have everything you need to relax with amazing views. There is a lot of space so it feels like a true oasis. The staff are friendly and helpful. Dalton is an exceptional host, he was so friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable, including cooking us a local meal. He made the trip. Highly recommend this place.
