My boyfriend and me stayed for five nights in a beautiful cabin. The location of the accomodation is just great, it is right at the sea and it is beautiful to swim there. They also have a nice swimming pool, so it is always possible to refresh yourself in the heat. The staff was very welcoming and nice. They are working hard and make your stay really nice.
Note that the wifi is weak, but in such a beautiful place right at the beach, who would needs wifi? We were watching the stars in the evening and enjoying the nice breeze from the sea.
This place has a good vibe, so don`t hesititate to go there, you will not regret it.

Me and my girlfriend spend our time here on honeymoon. we're surprised about the beauty of this place. On the photos it looks nice but when we arrived here, it surpasses our imagination. The staff is very nice and friendly. It is totally running on mosambiquan people, thats one of the reasons why we choose this place. It`s all about the contact with locals. We had a beautiful cabin called Santas Carolina. It was clean and nice. The mosqutio nets worked very well. Because you are next to the beach you have a beautiful view from the bar to the ocean, perfect for some nice sundowners. As well there are many things around this place you can do for example visit an island, go to the red dune or take a walk to the mangrove forest. The seafood, you can have here, is amazing you never get it fresher than here. All in all our requirements were far exceeded. It was a great pleasure.

We stayed here for 3 nights after seeing the pictures on the website. The location is ideal - right on the most attractive stretch of beach in Vilanculos, and a little out of town so very quiet at night. The views out to the island are stunning, and the cottages are set in beautiful tropical gardens. The road is driveable (just!) in a normal car, but the roads in town itself are awful.

The manager, Terrick, couldn't have been more welcoming. We had a couple of problems during our stay, and he was always quick to sort things out. Meals can also be ordered, and there's also a bar right on the beach. Going out in the evening without a car would be tricky - you would definitely need to take a taxi.

The location is also really convenient for the day trips to the Bazaruto Islands run by Odysea, who are based next door. There is also free wifi available.

Overall, we had a great time, and feel that the Beach Village is much better than a backpackers - definitely more like mid-range accommodation.

Based on other reviews and their website, our expectations were high but we were bitterly dissapointed in the Village, particularly as it is a new development. On first arriving we were happy enough - the pool and bar overlook the beach and it's a great location to while away a few hours. That said, as the only guests there that evening, we ended up going to the backpackers up the beach for drinks and dinner.

The rooms are expensive and not good value for money. The mattress was way too soft and sunk in the middle. The mosquito net had large holes all through it and we hardly slept. The bathroom was poorly finished (broken tiles, broken toilet seat) and the shower was just a trickle.

Suffice to say that after one night here, we cut our losses and moved to a beautiful lodge on the other side of town. We shared our reasons for leaving with the person in charge at the time, although he was just looking after the place for a week or so. Not sure if it's improved since our stay, but in considering we bqsed our decusion to stay here partly on reviews on this site, I would suggest others do their research prior to booking here.

This is the best place to stay, with easy access to a clean and rockless part of the beach, pool, a bar right by the beach and beautiful private rooms. The staff was also really friendly so I loved staying here.

Definitely the biggest asset of the Beach Village (beside the pool shaped as the African continent) is the bar. The bar is overseing the Vilanculos beach and is one of the only one in the Vilanculos to offer such a feature. The bungalows are comfortable enough for the price and all have a moskito net. The place is well maintained and the staff is very helpful.

The difference with my previous trips there is that it is now easier to organise transportation and this helps to travel around the city. This if you are already bored to go and see the Bazaruto Islands where you can snorkel and enjoy delicious calamaris !

After staying in Boabab for the first couple nights i moved down the beachh to beach village as it is a cheaper option but still really nice place and the bar is literally right on the beach, i reckon one of the best bars in vilanculos plus a swimming pool. but really the best part of the place is that its a real backpakers the managers and staff are really fun people who treat u like their friends and it doesnt feel like a commercial resort like boabab or any other place in vilanculos. i really enjoyed my stay here the people were great it it was the cheapest place i could find.

We were a large group comprising of 4 families and thought that this beachside backpackers would suit us, however, the dorms (think 9 foot cell) were cramped with four bunk beds, no-where for storage of clothes, no fan, or ventilation with 30 degree heat, which resulted in our kids not sleeping for four nights ..... we decamped to the mezzanine above the unfinished restaurant, where at least there was a draught and the kids could sleep before finally checking out and moving along the beach to a lovely stylish house on stilts with a functioning restaurant where food took only the understandable 20 minutes to prepare – we ate twice at Beach village and both times it took over an hour for food to emerge from their fairly unhygienic kitchen. It is a shame that the lodge is not managed (better) and that there was no sense of maintenance – get this, newly built but half falling apart as poor construction, trip advisor green pool for four days, and showers not installed properly in first place so big holes gaping where there should have been tiles, old torn sheets from another era and brushed cotton which doesn’t do sand well, cleanliness lacking (maids only came when asked to sweep sand off floor in rooms and the rest of the time sat around), and then to top it all, on check out the owner didn’t even enquire to know why we were leaving abruptly having booked for 2 weeks and leaving after 4 days …. That meant she had no concept why bookings dropped by well over 100 bed nights in a week ! Good luck Beach Village – and think about vaccinating the pet monkey that was chasing our party and nipping us, before some unsuspecting back packer gets sick ! Long and short of it is, that backpackers are not second or third class citizens, they are simply trying to stretch their money – clean and simple, good value for money and good setting is all we ask !

"Just do yourself a favour and check out this place I am sure you will not be disappointed. Happy travelling, There is a pet vervet monkey who is a treat, in the month that I stayed he became like a 'son' to me, he would climb on my lap and then my shoulder and go through my hair looking for fleas. He wasn't tame when I got there but after a month he was literally like my baby."
