Mowani, semi hidden in giant boulders, is a gorgeous thatched camp. We stayed in the suite which was huge with an amzing view. Three separate linked huts, a beautiful living room with a/c, a wonderful bedroom and a separate indoor bathroom to complement the outdoor bath and shower. A pool wiht two lounge areas. We had a very romantic outdoor...

We stayed teo nights in Mowari Mountain Camp and enjoyed every moment of it. The superior view chalet indeed had a superior view, a beautifull outside deck, a spacious bathroom area and a comfortable bed. The chalets are scattered on a ridge amidst red boulders of various size and form. The main buildings fit beautifully in the surroundings with rounded...

Having camped here a few times in the past, I convinced my friends that we drive an extra 140km to camp here. What a disappointment! We stayed at number 6 and it was the most expensive of all the camps we stayed. The site is small and sloping, we could not pitch our three tents. The braai area is terrible...

This place is superb! The service was a touch sketchy at times but overall a really friendly and wonderful vibe. The rooms are stunning and very private with beautiful views! I would be a bit dubious to stay here in the heat of the summer as there's no a/c but an overall great place.

We were lucky enough to stay in the suite for 2 nights - amazing. Luxury pure. There are 2 private decks (one with an outdoor shower & bath tub), the other with lounge chairs & sun umbrella. The suite consists of 3 huts - lounge room, bedroom & separate indoor bathroom. View over The Valley is spectacular. We watched a...

We were two couples and stayed for two nights. The lodge is quite stunning in the way it is built and located. Food is very good and the driver/guide was excellent. We saw the elephants at very close range and the landscape was beautiful. GandKfromoz

We stopped by on the Mowani Campground whilst on the search for desert elephants in Damaraland. With hints from the local people we knew they weren't far away, but we weren't allowed to access this region by our own car. So we were looking forward to see them on a gamedrive from the Mowani camp. When checking in, we received...

It took us 2 morning game drives, but we found the herd of 14 desert elephants. Mowani is a great lodge in Damaraland with friendly staff and great lodges. Pity that there is no air conditioning as the nights are still quite warm and the fan, although powerful tends to keep you awake. All in all an experience we would...

We stayed two nights at Mowani. We had a view room and it was to die for. As stated elsewhere rooms are essentially posh tents but they are very spacious and comfortable. Great bed. Fantastic Sunsets from the viewpoint. Excellent restaurant room and the food was great. The trips we went on, Desert Elephants and Rock carvings were very well...

Thank you so much for this fantastic review! The sunsets have been really good of late courtesy of all the rainy season clouds hanging about. We will be sure to let our chefs and guides know that you appreciated their efforts.

Can't praise this place highly enough. The only complaint I have is that we didn't spend more time here. The setting is fantastic,. Excellent 'tents' discretely positioned amongst amazing boulders with incredible views, we were lucky enough to experience a thunderstorm from afar during the night which was beautiful to see. The staff were all very welcoming and attentive. All...
