We spent 3 nights here. The bed in our room was very comfortable and the bathroom adequate. The shower was ok but took considerable time to drain away which was a little tricky to avoid the bath mat being soaked! No tea/coffee facilities and a small 'fridge would have been a great advantage. The food was buffet style and ok,... More

Seriously the worst ever. Which makes it even worse is that they look so weird at you when you come for a second plate. As if you're doing something you're not supposed to. Well thats true. Dont eat this xxxx.

Other reviewers seem to have been disappointed with Twyfelfontein, but we were lucky to have front facing rooms, which probably makes a big difference. The main building has a good bar area, blankets provided for chilly evenings (we needed them), and the restaurant is huge. The meals are all buffet, and there was a good choice, although on our second... More

Beautiful setting, the buildings thatched and unobtrusive, wonderful colours on the surrounding rocks at sunset. Chalets comfortable but no coffee/tea facilities – if one private lodge can provide a cafetiere, why can't they all! Good buffet dinner and breakfast. Wi fi only in reception and bar and very slow connection. Difficult to find a plug for my adaptor so battery... More

Compared to all other lodges we have been on our trip in Namiba this one was the worst. Service bad, rooms are bad equiped, no safe, no coffee maker. I could not even get a snack for lunch, the only option was a full buffet.

This was a substitute for a better venue on our tour which tends to cloud judgement but arrived with optimistic heart. The location close to world heritage site and after visiting the prehistoric rock engraved was delighted that the large rock near the entrance had more rock art! The main building finished in 2000 is impressive and with lovely wooden... More

Two families of 4 with travelling with 2 teens each. Beautiful rock formations surrounding the lodge. The large covered porch is awesome for relaxing and meeting new friends. We had car problems, and the owners were fantastic in helping us. The mechanic in the area was also great and very reasonably priced. However, the dining room staff was not on... More

Pros - Amazing location, nestled at the base of a small, rocky mountain. - Beautiful views of the sunrise over the plains if your rooms face that way ( exactly half the rooms face this way the other half face the mountain so I can imagine this can be quite disappointing but perhaps these rooms are also cheaper ? )... Our room was located at the far end facing the mountain at the back with a hugh rock in front blocking our view. It was small, dark and hot as there was no A/C. A ceiling fan was turned to low and there was no switch to adjust the speed. The only switch was on and off. Opening the two... More

Apparently guests moan because you have to park some distance away. A former owner told us that this was because the fumes from the car would, according to scientists, damage the rock engravings and paintings. Apart from this, having a car park at the 'front door' would detract hugely from the setting. This place is a 'must see' simply for... More
