I agree that the views are nice and the owners are friendly, but this is where it stops. Safety: none of the rooms lock from outside or have any safety/alarm measures to them in case there is any type of a threat or danger, or simple emergency. No place to safely leave anything or lock it in the cabin/room. The... More

Escape the high paced, digital driven world and unplug in the Adirondacks at Tinberlock. Phenomenal staff, clean, cozy cabins, delicious food, phenomenal views of Indian Lake & the surrounding mountains, plenty of outdoor activities, & a relaxing, peaceful environment to reconnect with family & nature. A genuine camping experience, family style. Warning to "Glampers"...if high maintenance & hair dryers are... More

This is a old style Adirondack Camp...set on a beautiful lake, lovely, well maintained lodge with sitting porches, eating porch, big fireplace for s'mores:), great people...excellent fun. I highly recommend this to families or anyone who wants a simple, old fashioned, unplugged vacation on a lake. Plenty to do, or plenty of nothing to do...your choice (swimming, boating of all... Everything you read here is true. Timberlock really is a wonderful place. I'm even reluctant to write something negative because of what an overall great place it is. However, I really rely on the honesty of these reviews so I think it's important to let people know that while we were there last summer mice were regularly found in the... More

Stunning mountains, welcoming hosts, peaceful lake, fresh and wholesome food, exciting activities and more. Timberlock is an absolute slice of heaven! We (two adults and two kids, ages 6 and 5) traveled from Austin, TX in search of a family style camp in the Adirondacks. We were ecstatic to find a place like Timberlock still exists in today's "wired world".... More

We visited for the first time this summer. We stayed for a whole week, which seemed like the perfect amount of time. We would not have known it, but we would have missed out if we had a shorter stay. We are not really country music lovers and we have no desire to camp, but we loved the cowboy rope... More

My wife and I returned to Timberlock for the 24th year. Biggest new experiences were 1) chance to be with our great nephews on their first time at Timberlock. That is another 3 generation family now. 2) the wonderful experience of having two families we have met at TL over the years meet each other for the first time. What... More

Timberlock is a great place. It's a rustic resort, with fabulous staff, many outdoorsy things to see and do, and toys for your enjoyment. They have everything from sailboats, to water trampoline, canoes, kayaks, tennis, volleyball, basketball, horseback riding, and much more. The cabins are rustic, with no power, but don't let that scare you away. Put on a headlamp,... More

When you offer your family a vacation in an Italian villa and they turn it down in favor of Timberlock, you know you've found the miracle vacation spot. So again this summer, we returned for a now 20 year ritual which started when our children were 8 and 3. This time we were accompanied by our now adult children and... More

For me one of the primary things I like about Timberlock is that it attracts interesting, friendly, well-educated people - easy to talk to. And dining three times a day is communal. It's like summer camp for adults! We have young kids, too, but they are off doing their own thing - the place is totally safe. The cabins are... More

“Small cabins are just as good as the larger ones. Essentially are pressed wood on a frame. Hot water.”

“All cabins have a lake view and all are comfortable and lovely.”

“All the cabins have their unique charm. We loved Balsam. Roomy, peaceful and private. I hope this tip doesn't prevent us from securing another reservation in the future.”

“Rooms are accurately described by the owners: Rustic but not rough. Our cabin was like an unfinished house, but it was fine. We had a bathroom. We were fine in a downpour. The wood stove warmed the place up a little bit on an unseasonably cold night. Propane lights and battery-operated lanterns kept it lit enough for our kids. The screened-in porch was a bonus.”

“Pick your room based on size of party, choice of lake or seclusion, all have great views. Reserve early, much of Aug 2015 was booked solid when we left in July 2014.”
