Well Michael did it again; the new Villa is extraordinary. I had the entire four bedroom villa to myself. The views are breathtaking. Panoramic over Ithaca, Cornell, to the south into Pennsylvania! The property is a working USDA organic farm and the Villa is like visiting an eclectic art museum abroad. I'd like to move in

I had the pleasure of spending 5 nights this month at Michael Caspar's Private Hotel and Pure Food outside of Ithaca, Ny. This compound includes a main house and several outbuildings: a two bedroom house, apartment, a "Buddhist" sanctuary perfect for contemplation, and a home/office for the owner. The buildings look, at first glance, to be rustic, but that is...

Private Hotel & Pure Food is a first class B&B. Owner and Chef Michael Casper goes way beyond expectations to make you feel like a VIP. The accommodations are warm and inviting and the food is remarkable. The service and care that goes into making your stay the best that it can be is off the charts. It was difficult...

Wonderful stay! The room was stunning. Very clean, spacious, well appointed, and quiet. Michael, our host, was gracious and very accommodating. He was also an excellent chef. Everything was delicious, fresh, and abundant. The setting was stunning. Located among a wooded 100 acres. We'd definitely return!

With a planned trip to visit Cornell, I decided to check out and stay at the Private Hotel and Pure Food for its close proximity to the university. I had the most amazing time and enjoyed all the gourmet food prepared by the unimitable and most unique host, Michael! Set in glorious and peaceful surroundings, this place is idyllic whatever...

My wife planned a secret get-away for out anniversary. We arrived exactly as expected according to directions. The property was stunning. The buildings on the compound were interesting and very modest until you entered. Stunning. There was a warm wood fire in the main guest room. Pictures floor to vaulted ceiling. A pond. A sunset. A cabin. A dirt road....

My fiance and I thoroughly enjoyed our New Year's Eve Getaway at the Private Hotel and Pure Food in Ithaca NY! We were welcomed kindly by Michael and Miss Carol. Michael offered us the best room in the house, and it was delightful! Our gourmet breakfast was prepared by Michael based on our selection. It was delicious, and the best...

I'm owner of a tour and travel company and have done countless "hotel sight inspections" in my business life. On a whim and spontaneous desire to escape NYC for a weekend a very special friend Ithaca popped in my head for reasons too long to list and after some searching for a unique and different experience I came upon Private...

Getting away from our busy city life for a relaxed environment was a total success at Private Hotel + Pure Foods. I personally felt that I was in a very special, magical and spiritual place. We enjoyed hikes on the grounds, visiting the pond and The Circle. Michael gave us great quality time. He genuinely wanted to get to know...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Michael Casper, an entrepreneurial hotelier and restaurateur, recently opened Private Hotel and Pure Food. This unique, small boutique hotel, with chef's private kitchen, is tucked away in the countryside just outside downtown Ithaca. Fusing post, beam, pole, log and contemporary architecture, the newly opened hotel has received rave reviews for its sensitive and sophisticated style. The common areas are comfortable and homey, accented by Michael’s sense of whimsy. A chef in his own right, Michael creates and prepares a unique menu comprised of organic and vegan ingredients that are primarily locally grown and harvested. An ecclectic combination of rustic and refined, sophisticated and casual, modern yet remote, Private Hotel and Pure Food appeals to the discerning individual who desires high end appointments, the finest in bedding and linen, and the world’s freshest and healthiest food ... all provided in a serene, tranquil environment. ... more   less
