If your have ever wanted to try a tiny house with great views and peacefulness, you gotta go here. The houses are very new any very functional. The grounds are great, I would like to try it in the summer.

Had so much fun on this trip. The food was amazing, loved the activities, the staff across the property were really attentive and the cabin was so homey (the heated floors in the bathroom were definitely appreciated). Definitely would return.

Hutton Brickyards has such potential but is lacking in many ways, especially at the price point. The grounds, layout and setting is wonderful. It has many nice touches both inside the cabins and outside. However, the service missed at every turn. We had the sauna reserved yet when we arrived at our scheduled time there was nobody to be found to check us in. The resort advertised towels and water would be provided plus glass of wine when done. False advertising! After dinner, we called ahead to have the fire pit started to enjoy when we returned only to find the wood barely smoking. We called again and the staff who came to assist couldn’t even get the fire started. Luckily we are adept at fire making and we’re able to get it started ourselves. They provided us with 2 s’mores kits and we were excited to enjoy them for dessert, but they were stale! Not a great end to the night. The next morning, breakfast was advertised to be delivered by 8.30am yet didn’t show up until close to 9.30am-affecting our morning plans. We expected much more from the description of this resort and price point. The place has so much potential, but the service really takes all that away. It’s disappointing as we really want to like this place and refer to others. But given the lack of service, we don’t recommend it for the price charged.

They do not respond to negative reviews! Had to ask for things multiple times. Gets tiresome after awhile. Defeats you so you just wind up giving up. Beautiful grounds, awesome views but very pricey$$$$$.

The Inn is not finished and I would not recommend anyone stay there unless its a free stay. The price for what is offered is outrageous. There is no front desk attendance, you are requested to call or text for help. There is not even a coffee pot in sight. No bell person, no elevator. Nothing but a room like you are at an Air B n B....so what are you paying for? The lawn is not well lit at night and you park a quarter mile away in the dark....dont' bother! The rooms and the house are lovely but it is not guest ready. The thermometers don't work, and there is no TV so good luck with that!

A perfect getaway to enjoy the fall colors. We walked the beautiful empire trail in all its fall splendor, ate at the magnificent Pavillion (the food was excellent) and topped the evening off sipping wine around a roaring bonfire. Our cozy King cabin had super comfortable beds and a private deck looking out to the Hudson River. In the mornings, it was fun to retrieve the daily delivery of piping hot coffee and a continental breakfast followed by cocktails delivered later in the afternoon. We found that it was easy to book spa treatments and the facial was especially top notch. And Kingston is an especially charming historic town with lovely shops and some great farm-to-table deli's and restaurants.

What a unique and cool spot right on the Hudson River! Luxury "shotgun house" cabins were cozy, and well-appointed with spa robes, crisp bedding, and luxury toiletries. Many offered views of the river. Loved learning the history of the Hutton Brickyards and enjoying exploring the extensive property, finding the firepits and barrel saunas, and taking the complimentary"room service" continental breakfast to the riverfront restaurant, and dining riverside. Special spot for relaxation and R&R. Also offers as large event venue for wedding and corp group retreats. NOTE: Check-in is at main estate home up the hill and a bit confusing finding the actual riverfront accommodations as you have to drive thru a cluster of houses to another security checkpoint before arriving. Riverfront Restaurant closes end October and moves to main estate house.

My husband said to me, "how did you find this place?" It was like we discovered the best kept secret. Walking from our car to our cabin was magical and then walking over to one of the best meals we've ever had. Can't say enough about our experience and cannot wait to return with friends. The staff and every aspect of Hutton Brickyards was perfect. Thank you!

I grew up in the Hudson Valley, and since I've moved away, I've taken every opportunity to come back, visit, support local establishments, and try new places. For our anniversary weekend, my spouse and I decided to stay two nights at Hutton Brickyards. The photos looked amazing, and I hadn't been up to Kingston in probably 20 years. I want to preface the rest of my view by saying that the staff at Hutton was AMAZING. Everyone was so kind, and clearly doing the best they could, and extremely apologetic when some minor issues arose. However, our experience based on the price they charge to stay at the resort was definitely missing a few key pieces. I am giving four stars, but I think if these issues were addressed, this could be easily a 5-star stay! THE CONS 1. Confusing Check-In When we received a confirmation email, there was no indication of a check-in time. Checking the website, I saw 2pm. So, we arrived at 2pm. When we got there, we were told it would be about 30 minutes to finish preparing the cabin. No big deal! They sent us down to The Larder (a tiny store located in an airstream on the property) to enjoy a complimentary drink. The problem? No one was staffing The Larder - which is not only functioning as a front desk of sorts, but also as the spa check in and hotel gift shop. As it turns out, the person who was in charge of it was on a break, and no one was communicating. We did not receive a complimentary drink, and we had to wait outside on a very cold weekend for someone to come give us our cabin keys along with other guests checking in that day. There was no contingency for bad weather for people waiting for their rooms to be ready. Meanwhile, others were arriving to check in for spa appointments, and no one was there to help them. Eventually, the person returned from break, was very apologetic, and answered all our questions and helped us check into our room. We did not receive a complimentary drink while waiting for check-in, but later that day the staff did leave us some wine on our cabin porch because I think they realized what had happened. At various points during our stay, The Larder was staffed by an esthetician from the spa, a director of the resort, and other various staff members. 2. Key cards stopped working midway through the stay On our second day, we took our car out to enjoy some nearby hiking and restaurants. On our way back, our keycards would not work to open the gate to get our car back onto the property. We were buzzed in by the front desk, and then found out that our key cards were also deactivated for the room. Someone quickly came down to give us new key cards and let us back in, but if that had been later in the evening when no one was staffing the front desk, I’m not sure how we would have gotten back onto the property and into our cabin. 3. Paying Attention to the Details For the price they charge and the luxury experience they market, we felt like they were missing some key pieces. For example, when they bring you breakfast in the morning, they tell you to leave your trash out on the porch for someone to take. No one ever came to take it, and we ended up having the trash on our porch that blew over during the day while we were out. There is no garbage can in the cabin other than a tiny one in the bathroom, so we just had food waste sitting in/outside our cabin for 24 hours. Also, we did receive an offer for 10% off on the sauna, but there is no other benefit to staying on the resort property since anyone can come and use the spa. It would have been nice to receive a few additional perks or discounts as resort guests at the spa. Something like 10% off all services or some kind of coupon towards a second stay goes a long way in getting guests to return. The property also has a number of fire pits you can request to have lit. We requested a fire to be started by our cabin around 5pm. The fire was not started until 5:30, which is fine! I just wish they would have communicated a small delay in that so we could have better planned our evening. One other point, although it wasn’t my experience, is that the property often hosts weddings and events on the weekend. The event space is right outside the cabins, and I would imagine if there was a party or music playing that it might not be so enjoyable for resort guests. Again, this was not my experience as we stayed Sunday through Tuesday, but just a point to keep in mind if you’re considering coming up on a weekend during wedding season. THE PROS 1. AMAZING Spa Treatments I cannot say enough how amazing the spa is. We did the dry sauna in the barrels facing the Hudson River, and it was so relaxing. The massage by Justin was incredible. I would absolutely go back and enjoy the spa. They also offer a number of amazing beauty/skin care products in The Larder that I am glad to have discovered. 2. The River Pavillion Restaurant This is one of the best meals I’ve had in the area. The cocktails were great, the food was delicious, and the views were incredible right on the river. I especially loved my dessert - a take on s’mores with toasted marshmallows and a dark chocolate mousse with bits of graham cracker. My local trout for dinner was also incredible. 3. Location If you’re looking to explore Kingston and the Hudson Valley while also having a quiet getaway, this spot is perfect. It’s just off the beaten path, but a quick drive into town, and 15 minutes away from some excellent trails. We did a simple hike at the Falling Water Preserve. I highly recommend it. We also took bikes out (provided by Hutton Brickyards) onto the Empire State Trial that runs through the property. Conclusion Even though we ran into a few minor problems, I think the property is lovely and the staff is excellent. Even just having one or two additional staff members that are well trained and made available would have resolved some of the issues we experienced.

There is such potential. The property, location and vibe are great. Service was eerily, non-existent. There is no front-desk and we were literally "ghosted" mid-text conversation regarding breakfast delivery and a lost item. (We rummaged the host stand at the restaurant the following morning and located the lost item!) For the price of the room - which is basically a small trailer the service and quality of accommodation were abominable. Seriously - no breakfast before 8:30 for $815/night + tax? If dinner had been included, I may have given it 4-stars. The restaurant location, menu and service are superb. We ate there both nights. A unique setting, beautifully designed with wood burning fireplaces throughout. The watermelon salad, grilled chicken and homemade sourdough were amazing. Location on the bike trail and within driving distance of some great hiking and cute towns was perfect for a getaway with friends.
