Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favourite
The hotel itself is clean, organized, the small indoor pool is loads of fun for kids, the breakfast buffet exceeded my expectations and was a big hit with the kids; however, more than anything else the STAFF at this hotel were GREAT! They were super helpful, accommodating, and efficient. They easily handled not only my rambunctious crew but also a medical emergency with another guest with calm efficiency. They went above and beyond to make our stay so memorable, and we are very grateful.

We typically tack between unique hotels with considerable character and utilitarian choices motivated by saving some money towards other travel expenses. A lovely hotel across the river was quite tempting until I realized for a 15 minute drive we could save the cost of two expensive but satisfying dinners. We could put up with another cookie cutter Hampton Inn.
Frankly, it had always been a love-hate relationship. I respect the high sanitary standards of the Hilton family, comfortable beds, good lighting and efficient bathrooms
The Hampton Inns all look mostly alike, but they, including this one, have a pleasant staff.
The days of the large and forgettable breakfast buffet are over during Covid
They will give you a brown bag with your choice of generic breakfast items including Brazilian orange concentrate juice
Whatever. If you want a real breakfast, you have to look for it.
Bottom line, Hampton Inn will provide you with a practical hotel choice in a totally predictable bland suburban landscape. Save se money and spend it on so something moreemorable or save it in these uncertain times. Good value of a bit routine.

This Hampton Inn is located along an uninteresting retail strip that was lacking in charm, but that also meant that a Taco Bell, CVS, and Dunkin’ Donuts were all within walking distance of the hotel. It was easy to access the highway and the more charming, historic parts of Kingston.
We spent four nights here and we slept well. The hotel was quiet and our room was clean and comfortable. We used digital check in and digital key so we had very little interaction with the front desk. The person in the breakfast room was extremely helpful and friendly. Stays under 5 nights do not automatically receive cleaning so we didn’t interact with housekeeping either.

Great value for money
Clean and comfortable. Rooms could use a little refresh.
Location is in the strip mall part of Kingston.
10 mins to the restaurants and bars uptown and Uber was about $10.
Supermarket and liquor store next door for supplies and all the fast food outlets are on the strip if that’s your thing.
The area is not very pedestrian friendly though.
Kingston was a good break for a weekend away from NYC.

This place may be behind a Taco Bell and CVS, but it’s great location if you’re visiting in the area and want quick access to highways. I was visiting an old friend in Woodstock for the day and it was an easy 20 minute drive plus a whole lot cheaper than anything there. Kudos to this top quality Hampton - from a former Diamond now Gold HH member.

We stopped for a night during a snowstorm and were greeted upon entry by a sweet and helpful woman at the front desk. Our room was clean and full of amenities. The shower had excellent pressure, beds were great, plenty of outlets to recharge your phones, iPads, etc., mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and we didn’t hear anything from other guests - so, our sleep was sound! The complimentary breakfast had many options including “make your own waffles”, eggs, sausage, yogurt, cereals, assorted fruit, touch-free juice machine, and more. Plus, touch free hand sanitizer stands were located all over the hotel. CVS is right there a block away, and there’s tons of shopping and restaurants within a mile radius. At the front desk they have a “sundry” shop where you can purchase snacks and drinks 24/7. I’d stay again in a heartbeat. The pool was open, but the heater wasn’t working. We didn’t miss it. Played some cards in front of the fireplace downstairs before dinner out, and came back to sleep like babies.

This was our second time in this hotel and we were pleased with our choice.
The first time we went in the pre-Covid era and the manager went to great lengths to make it fun with a happy hour in the evening.
Of course all that has gone by our recent second trip, but they still gave us a hot breakfast of sorts: a prepackaged meal we took back to the room and heated in the microwave. Along with a few continental-style items of course.
The hotel's location is not ideal: a few miles north of the center of Kingston on Route 9W (but close to the intersection with Route 199 giving access to the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge so convenient for business travelers). It's also set back behind a CVS store, which confused Google Maps, which ignored the obvious access to the hotel past the CVS parking lot and sent us on a roundabout route via a service road behind the hotel.
There's a Taco Bell within a short walk, and a good Italian restaurant across 9W (be sure to cross at the light) if you don't want to drive for a meal.

The hotel was very clean. We liked that they had hand sanitizer everywhere. It was awesome that they provided wipes in the room next to the remote so if you wanted you could wipe it down. We stayed in room 425 and were not bothered by the trains.

We had a really great stay at this inauspicious hotel. It is set back from the main drag but in a commercial area. When you walk in you are greeted by friendly and I thetic people. Check in was a breeze and we were invited to help ourselves to coffee tea and cookies. Our room was so spacious that, even with two queen size beds, there was plenty of floor space. The beds were so clean and poofy and comfortable, and the pillows were perfect. breakfast was inviting, nicely presented and the homemade smoothies were a lovely touch. The hotel gave out “happy kits”, perfect for a day of hiking or just being on the road, with a selection of an apple, water, cookies, a granola bar.
The entire stay felt generous by Hampton Inn. The amenities, the staff, everyone was welcoming, helpful and friendly. Turns out, location location location is not everything! Go enjoy.

About 40 minutes
Call them. Most hotel pools are closed along with the fitness center.
Yes, they are pet-friendly but I don’t know anything about the cost. Contact them, they are friendly and helpful.
About a 30 minute drive, omega is on the other side of the river.
I’m sorry Natalie but no snow when we visited Hunter Mtn Ski Resort. We were looking for the zip line and it was closed. We walked around the resort, nobody around but it looked like they were getting ready for snow. But a ghost town while we were there.
