Fabulous large old style hotel. Four poster beds laden with flower and unique decoration on Lake Tana in Bahir Dar. We spent one night at this hotel and were given a suite much to our surprise, which came with a very large extra room and a full service bar. Good food and breakfast served. Great views.

We stayed in Room 203, which had a partial view of the lake and pool. The room itself was very nice and the staff extremely accommodating. There was a free brunch every morning that had a good mix of buffet food and fresh to order eggs, pancakes, etc. Being able to stay in such a unique room right on Lake...

Our room was quite large and decorated in the traditional Ethiopian style with twin four-poster beds that had curtains around them that you can close at night. Think they also double as mosquito nets. Due to the location on the shore of the lake, there are a lot of mosquitoes. I used a good insect repellent with 50% deet and...

The lodge is well located on the shore of Tana Lake , with a private boat docking. The rooms are in a typical tukul and we had an upstairs room with a very large terrace overlooking the lake and provided with a big sofa –bed- table and chairs –and a chimney The interior of the room has a special atmosphere...

My daughter and I stayed one night. The location is great, the rooms nice, showers great, the views stunning and the spa wonderful. However, for the price you want a little more. -toiletries (we forgot lotion, would have expected that could be provided) -zero flexibility on late checkout (pay half the rate) -recommended tour guides crazy overpriced (quoted 2400 birr...

We really enjoyed our long week-end at the Kuriftu. Staff was helpful and the room very comfortable. I preferred the rooms on the first level as you get a nice view on the lake. Service at the restaurant can take a very long time!

Room is spacious and traditional. 40min swedish massage and 30min foot massage were included to room rate and the massage was really great. The only downside was that wifi wasn't working in rooms. only in public area.

This was a fantastic little hotel on the lake and a short walk from downtown. A beautiful deck, pool, and restaurant looked out across the soothing waters of the lake. While you could then return to your room which in many cases were up in tree houses with a nice lounging deck. There was also a very nice spa.

This a a most attractive hotel with some large comfy rooms with huge balconies where you can have your own fire and you gaze over the lake. There is a good pool too and a pretty garden setting. The staff are so anxious to help. The restaurant has good food, especially the fish. This is an excellent base to explore...

A pool on the shore of Lake Tana. Beautiful rooms. Great breakfast. Internet usually works, which is saying a lot. The staff are really nice. Expensive, but worth it if you need a break from Ethiopia.
