This was an amazing trip, and the lean-tos were an excellent way to stay and have the ability to climb more peaks in one trip. They were comfortable, and definitely large enough to fit 6 people if organized properly. I would highly recommend to any...More

ADK Loj was a great vacation for my family of 3. Our 15 year old son had a great time hiking and it was wonderful to have 'no service' and have all screens turned off for the 4 days we were there. There are several...More

Had a really pleasant stay at the Adirondack Loj at Heart Lake. The staff are super-friendly and caring. It was wonderfully laid back and peaceful. Woke up to loons singing on Heart Lake. They accommodated my early start to my hike by having breakfast ready...More

Wonderful quaint lodge to stay at. No frills glamping experience. Great access to nearby trials because of convenient location. Wonderful to have someone cook for us and have a hot shower at the end of a very long day!

Hiked Bushnell Falls on day one to get acclimated. Hiked Lower and Upper Wolfjaw on day two. Hearty food and location at trail base makes peak-bagging possible. Dip in the brook at days end was the best!

It is not within walking distance of Main Street. I believe its site says 8 miles from Lake Placid and it a goodly drive off the main road into the property (which of course makes it very private)

Dogs should be allowed as long as you are not staying in the lodge itself. Yet, as Ken T. suggests, i would confirm directly with ADK club which maintains the lodges.
