Overall, a very nice place to stay. I do feel a bit over priced for a section of dirt to cook and sleep on, but staff was friendly, knowledgeable and very useful! I would stay here again in a heartbeat for the breathtaking views of...More

Lean-tos are wonderful for additonal weather protection and, overall the campsites are well positioned for decent privacy and seclusion with easy access to amenities. Would definitely visit again, and hope to soon.

Stayed at the loj in the loft. Interesting experience. Ten communal beds with a shared bathroom (one men’s, one women’s). Worked well and quite comfortable. Not quite what this 70+ yo world traveler is used to but fun. Good information available about hiking opportunities, etc....More

It is not within walking distance of Main Street. I believe its site says 8 miles from Lake Placid and it a goodly drive off the main road into the property (which of course makes it very private)

Dogs should be allowed as long as you are not staying in the lodge itself. Yet, as Ken T. suggests, i would confirm directly with ADK club which maintains the lodges.
