Although this is not my first time staying at Paradox Lodge, it is only the second time I have stayed in one of the Cedar Lodge rooms. If they are not all booked, I highly recommend them. From the cozy , in-room fireplace to the jacuzzi tub and and rain shower head, Nan and Red have gotten all the amenities... More

We stayed in the Cedar Lodge, which is a separate house right next door to the main lodge. The room was small, but definitely suited our needs and was very cozy and comfortable. One thing we were worried about was noise from the other rooms in the house (it was full when we were there), but this worry wasn't necessary... More

We enjoyed our time at Paradox Lodge. Nan and Red were very welcoming. Breakfast was superb (we had the choice of an egg-based or a sweet-based (pancakes, waffles) on both mornings) and the service was excellent the entire weekend. The whole place is wood and covered in antiques and memorabilia from the area. Very cozy. About 10 minutes to downtown... More

Be aware that the rooms are small (e.g. no closet). The bathrooms are very small (e.g. the sink is in the bedroom, not the bath). There is no TV — in the room or in any common area. The breakfasts are very good and the location is very good (although there is significant street noise). A positive feature is that... More

You and your wife spent two nights in the Daisy room in the main lodge. As is stated on our web site our lodge is a renovated house built in 1890. The size of the rooms are clearly depicted on our site – and in particular the Daisy room (12' 2” x 15'2”) is shown to have the sink in... More

Superb hospitality afforded in this conveniently located B&B. We truly enjoyed our 30th anniversary get-away in the beauty of Lake Placid area. The town is within easy walking distance and sightseeing attractions are only a short drive away from paradox Lodge. Nan and Red offered delicious breakfasts and helpful suggestions for local attractions. The room, cabin and dining area were... More

For our 8th annual Sisters' Gathering, we chose Paradox Lodge and it perfectly met our needs and interests. Located a few blocks from "downtown" and, therefore, in a bit of a quieter area, this B&B has a Adirondack-meets-Lake Placid Olympics-meets-comfy-retro feel to it. Rustic touches abound everywhere, the grounds, which abut the end of Lake Placid, have thoughtful and colorful... More

This turned out to be a perfect 20th anniversary get away. We stayed in the Skyview room which is well maintained and comfortable. There were absolutely no problems with the room and the service was excellent. The bathroom has both a jetted tub and a large shower and there was plenty of hot water. Breakfast was outstanding everyday. The eggs... More

So this place is well located while being a little out of the way, fine if you like to walk. Sometimes because of the heat, we just took the car a little closer to town and parked but it really isn't that far, it was just hot!! Beautiful back yard with use of canoe and kayaks. Rooms each had their... More

We stay in a lot of B&B's and actually enjoy the mystery of it all; getting to know innkeepers, seeing different decor, trying different breakfasts, etc. The Paradox Lodge has a good location; very close to downtown Lake Placid. The Cedar Lodge is quite lovely, complete with rustic furniture and overrun with antiques. There is no door between the bedroom... More

Owner communicative & generously let us get in early when I messed up the time. Room good for two/ small bathroom as expected but could definitely be a challenge for larger persons. Loved the yard & the chairs down by the water. We would definitely go back.
