I tour South Africa every 3 years from Canada. This year marked my 4th visit to Port St Johns and another stay at The Outspan Inn. How do I love this place? Let me count the ways. Kathryn, with support from John, as well as their perennial friendly staff provide the perfect place to stay. The price is very reasonable... More

Really nice and peaceful. Bed and Breakfast rooms good but not the two bed house. Spent new years eve in the resort as 48 hour party outside gate very noisy but safe and ok. Spent 4 nights. Will go again but will go before Xmas.

The reception area looked like a make shift with old equipment hidden behind it and a curtain hidding more of a mess in that room. We were taken to our rooms and what a horror it was. A shack with holes beneath the structure. The linen, pots and utensils very old and low qualily. The bathroom was embarrasing. This family... More

Found this place as we were diverted on our tour of SA, and what a find it was! Stunning location near the beach, fabulous rooms with a 4 poster bed! Would loved to have stayed longer, and so will return! Great bar next door that served stunning food was a bonus.. Highly recommended!!!

Friendly, helpful staff. Nice restaurant and bar on the property. Rooms are outdated and need upgrade soon. Not extremely clean. Pool did not look appealing either. Town is also not worth a visit. Beaches are full of broken glass after a weekend.

We stayed 2 nights with 2 adults and 3 childeren in one of the old sink houses in the back garden. This is very basic accommodation,(so is the price also) but we did like it a lot. The garden is well kept, the house is clean. Oly minus: the fridge is finished, it should be replaced, it doesn't even close... More

We spent 1 night at the Outspan Inn. I was travelling with my dad & we each had separate rooms. Both rooms were clean, comfortable & spacious. We couldn't get the free wifi in our rooms but sat in the lounge & accessed it. The owner, Kathryn, was delightful, very friendly & really helpful. We ate dinner & breakfast at... More

Based on ratings received here on TA we decided to stay here. We had the rustic 2 bedroom cottage which was built at the turn of the previous century. It is very rustic with a certain charm you would expect, but it included a full kitchen with separate bathroom with shower.
