This place is absolutely amazing! When we arrived, there were fresh homemade cookies individually packaged. They were some of the best cookies I have ever had. When we went to our room, we were again pleasantly surprised. It was nice and clean and modern. The room did not have carpet which was a plus. Our bed was very comfortable. The room was quiet. The best thing happened in the morning. We went to the complimentary breakfast. We let me say, it was amazing! I would have had to pay around $30 or more per person to have a brunch like this elsewhere. The hostess in the dining room made us feel so welcome. She was there to make our time there the best. I will definitely come here again if we are in the area again.

Hotel is located right off a main road, easy to find. There is a connected restaurant that seems very popular, but we went out with family. Our room was large, heat individually controlled which was great on this cold night. Very comfortable bed. There was a large tv, radio/ alarm clock, microwave, coffee pot, fridge and a useful desk. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the room and bathroom, and it seems recently refurbished. There was a slight smell of fresh paint. I had forgotten a phone charger cord and the desk lent me on. There's a coffee/ tea/ water set up in the lobby and a soup pot!! That was a treat to come back at night to have. The hot breakfast included was terrific. Bacon, eggs, muffins, oatmeal etc. I also noticed a gluten free section. I would definitely stay here again when visiting.

It is a hotel with great comfort and we see that everything has been thought of to ensure that customers are satisfied. The rooms are clean, the beds comfortable. The hot lunch is really well stocked, nothing is missing and the hotel staff is welcoming and helpful. Nothing is missing, outdoor table for a picnic. There is a computer with printer for guest use. We will return there for sure.

We chose this hotel because all other hotels in the Troy area were fully booked, but we will definitely not return due to the poor service and extremely dirty room.
First, they strictly enforced a 3 PM check-in time, which we initially understood as a way to ensure rooms were properly cleaned. However, upon entering our room, we found thick dust covering most surfaces. The towel that appeared fresh, neatly rolled on top of the toilet, had a disgusting brown stain. When we asked for a clean towel, the front desk staff rudely told us, “You HAVE TO come down here to get the towels.” To make matters worse, there was no toilet paper in the room either.
There was also a sign on the bathroom mirror stating that for “guests’ convenience and comfort,” housekeeping wouldn’t service the room unless notified 24 hours in advance. This is one of the most absurd policies we’ve ever encountered at a hotel.
The breakfast was another disappointment—served cold despite being on a supposedly hot platter. One morning, there was also a musty smell in the dining room, which was unpleasant.
The only redeeming feature of this hotel is its location, not the hotel itself.
We will not be coming back. We’d rather pay more for better service and stay at a hotel that prioritizes its guests’ comfort.

While the staff, though not overly warm, were efficient and helpful, and the bed was comfortable, the shower just fine (props for having grab bars), the room was one of the most dismal, bleak and poorly designed I have ever stayed in. The color scheme is nothing like pictured and consists of grey, brown, black and a cold, uninviting spot of blue. The lighting, what little there is, is all cold, white, cheap LED with no warmth. I've been in hospital exam rooms that had more charm. The bathroom walls are black shiny paneling with only the same cold LED lights shining from above, so one is shrouded in shadow. The mirror is not over the sink and the main room itself is very uncomfortable. One upholstered chair in a corner where you would never sit and if you did, there is no place to put your feet up. The only way to watch the TV is lying in bed and the so-called desk is a mere table with a hard chair that is too low and uncomfortable, making it impossible to do any work. No carpeting means that the floor is as cold as the lighting. No art, just one little hanging mirror that is not over anything. The clothing/storage area near the door is dark and, along with the overhead "rustic" beams, feels old and uninviting. I had to search for 20 minutes to find an ice machine which was at the end of the hall on the first floor, despite signage which indicated it was on the second floor. Bathroom bulb was out when I arrived but maintenance had gone home by 4pm so it couldn't be replaced until the next day when I was checking out. Had to use a hand mirror over by the window to put on make up. Would never stay here again. Depressing.

A place to avoid, bust everywhere and spiders nets are in each corner. The coffee table and plate were very dirty, they certainly weren't touched since the last guest left one coffee package was even open. The AC is wrapped in dust. You can tell that No vacuum was done as you can easily seen it's dirty. I looked behind the TV and the view was horrible. I spoke to the front desk lady and apparently she doesn't really care, she only suggested to cancel my reservation with no consideration to my dirt concern. One word, DON'T STAY HERE.

Great location with tons of stores and restaurants on the stretch to and from the hotel; also, very close to the highway. The restaurant is the first building and you have to follow the signs to park in the back at the hotel. Fantastic old building! I loved the decor in my room - pipes as part of the shelf, a trolley lamp and wooden beams in the ceiling. The room had a great shower although it also had a half glass door to it so it did get a bit wet during the shower. The room had a fridge and microwave that worked well. The bed was very comfortable. I think I had the best sleep in a hotel in forever here. Breakfast was included - I loved their scramble eggs. Otherwise, they didn't have a lot of healthy options. The coffee was also terrible. I think the cream had curdled, yuck. Noise levels weren't great. The first night someone close had a yippy dog and we could hear it off and on in the night. The next night a young child was in a nearby room and pretty loud during the night. That being said, the price was very good and the decor fun. I would stay here again if visiting the area.

This is my second stay at the Century House - my daughter moved to the area last year. This time we had a good-sized group of family with us for two nights including a day at Saratoga Springs race track so we reserved three rooms. When we arrived at 3:15 only one room was ready. By 4 the other two still weren't ready and since they were in the same area as the one room we could use we could see that there was no activity in the rooms. We went back to the desk and were then given two other rooms on the same floor that were ready...not sure why that didn't happen initially. We also noticed that the original rooms were still not ready by 5PM and it seemed the same way the next day - it's odd to see the hallways full of housekeeping at 5PM. If you want to check in to your room anywhere near their 3PM checkin time I'd suggest calling ahead.
Other than that everything else was excellent. The rooms have been updated and are very nicely appointed. The morning breakfast is good and the workers in the breakfast room are just awesome. Friendly, helpful etc. We were there during a heat wave so cooling off in the pool in the afternoon was perfect. We had a drink in the tavern one afternoon and the bartenders were so much fun we wanted to go back but just ran out of time.
We'll definitely return to the Century House on our next visit to the area in the fall.

Room was clean, comfortable, and quiet with a walk-in accessible bathroom and shower, perfect for my elderly father who has mobility issues. Front desk staff were helpful and friendly, offering free baked goodies upon check in, and complimentary hot coffee/tea and cold water. BEST breakfast ever included in the stay and we will definitely be coming back. Pool wasn’t open yet but they offered me a pass for a hotel up the road that had a pool.

I have stayed at hundreds of hotels in my six plus decades of life and this is one of the worst. Seven stairs up from the parking lot to the front desk. A full flight of additional stairs if you are on the second floor. No elevator. Deferred maintenance every where. No manager on site. Heavy marijuana smell in the hall, I complained and was told that they "will look into it if others complain." NO HOT WATER IN THE SHOWER. I asked for a refund, they told us that they would give a free night as compensation. No thanks, never returning.

Thank you for your feedback. We try and be transparent on all booking platforms that we have no elevator, there is also a ramp to the left of the stairs, as well as a ground level entrance, I'm sorry you missed those. The main feed water supply to the entire building froze on the main road, and unfortunately there was nothing we could so to remedy this quickly with temperatures so far below freezing. We did offer you a complimentary night stay, in addition to granting your refund through hotwire. we just couldn't authorize that ourselves since you purchased through them, which is true of all hotels. We wish you restful accommodations in your future travels.
