So I have got to say this review will start off positive however I would not return based on what happened on our return. The room it self was nice and clean. House keeping came in daily. The bed was the best part, it was huge and very comfortable. The subway is close by and it only takes 15 to get into Manhattan. The breakfast was ok, not a lot of choice but did the job. We stayed for 2 nights then went to Washington for a night to return for a further 3. We asked if we could keep our main luggage with reception when leaving for Washington however the receptionist checked with her manage who said we could keep our stuff in the room as we would be staying in the same room on our return. THERE WAS AT NO POINT MENTION OF A FEE, CHARGE FOR THE ROOM , COST OR PAPERWORK TO SIGN to say we agreed or authorised a payment for room we would not be staying in!! On return we found out we had indeed been charged £140 for the room. The hotel are claiming they told us about the addition room charge and just took the money from the credit card we used. Some people reading this will say 'well surely they knew they would have to pay '. We assumed it was a goodwill gesture given we were coming back the day after. Had we known about the addition room fee we would have packed up and left our luggage or taken it with us for the sake of one night. I am absolutely devastated and on my return to NY next year will most definitely not be staying her on principle ever though I had enquired about prices and dates!

Greetings, Thank you so much for taking time out to leave feedback, we sincerely appreciate it! We thank you for your kind words when it pertains to service. We have a luggage room available for our guests 24 hours a day to leave their bags free of charge upon checkout. Under any circumstance, we would not allow a guest to leave personal belongings in a room they are not paying for, as another guest would have been able to occupy the room. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience and we thank you for providing us an opportunity to accommodate you.

Gotta say this is the only place really to stay in all of NYC area. Why? Clean, friendly, location and safety! We’ve stayed here before and will again for these reasons and a few more. Highly recommended for even the most well “heeled” traveler.

Our flight was cancelled and we were sent here by Delta. What a welcome surprise! Clean, friendly, helpful. And Amy runs an awesome front desk. Her advise to visitors was so helpful. Views of the city are amazing! We liked this place so much we will be back to see the Mets and midtown.

Booked this hotel based on its very reasonable price and its proximity to Manhattan. Turns out it completely exceeded our expectations. We were very impressed by the friendly staff, the great breakfast, the cheap parking, and the cleanliness of the property. An added bonus was the subway stop was about a one minute walk away and one stop away from Downtown. Also there's a rooftop patio with an awesome view. The rooms were small but the pictures on the website were completely accurate so we knew exactly what we were getting. Plus the price was about a third of what we would pay across the river. You can also take the ferry into town (a nightime cruise along the East River under the Brooklyn Bridge with all the lights of the city for $2.75) and there's four excellent craft breweries all within a few blocks of the hotel. Highly recommended.

The staff was incredible! Always very kind and caring about any needs. Really proactive in the counter. Always smiling in the kitchen. They made us feel very comfortable. Warm rooms, comfy beds, great water pressure in the showers. The breakfast has enough things to begin your day. Definitely the location was also great, with the closest subway station at 150m, but a couple of other options not that far, too, so in 15 minutes you were already in Manhattan, if that was what you were looking for. There are also nice places to go for a meal or have a drink like at a 10 minute walk.

We stayed here for 7 nights We are from u.k and staying for a holiday The location is great only 100 yds from a subway into the city , which takes 10 minutes to Manhattan The area the hotel is in feels very safe , and there are numerous bars and restaurants within 10 minutes walk The hotel was super super clean , everywhere was spotless The beds were comfortable and rooms were large The roof terrace was sparse , but great views of the city The breakfast was good , porridge , fruit, juices Scrambled eggs , bacon pancakes etc Overall this hotel was excellent value for money We have stayed in much more expensive hotels with staff to open the doors for you and all the trimmings etc Lic hotel is great location , clean , staff were nice and great value for money

Not the great hotel it once was. Room was very small and not in great shape. Few eating options nearby. The breakfast was limited and hot items were warm at best. The hotel should be ashamed to serve the bagels they serve in nyc. Noise from adjacent rooms a problem. Water pressure was good.

Greetings, Thank you so much for leaving feedback, we appreciate it! We always recommend our King or Double Twin XL rooms for added comfort. Due to the pandemic, we are only able to serve pre-packaged bagels. However, we are receptive to feedback and will look at ways to improve our offerings. Thank you so much for providing us an opportunity to accommodate you and have a great day!

Here is my honest review of this hotel. It is very BASIC. There are no bells and whistles at all. I didn't realize until my stay that this class of hotel is considered 3 star and that's exactly what it is. I'm really quite confused about all the glowing, positive reviews. I guess everyone's standards are different. First I will start with the PROS because it wasn't all bad. The staff is great, very friendly, helpful, and attentive. I had a few minor issues and they were addressed and rectified (when possible) in a timely manner. The location is great. There are plenty of places to get food, groceries etc. There are restaurants in the area. Very close proximity to Manhattan. The breakfast is included and it is good. Not your typical continental breakfast but bacon, eggs, sausage, pancakes etc. The area felt safe so that's definitely a plus. The hotel is very clean. Proper COVID protocols in place. Refrigerator in the room and a bottle of water left in the room daily. The shower is pretty amazing as far as water pressure goes. Now for the CONS. Again this is a very BASIC hotel. If that's what you're looking for then this is the place for you. This property definitely needs some updating, sprucing up, renovating or something. The mattress was terribly uncomfortable in my opinion. It was soft and lumpy. I asked for a replacement and was told by the front desk all of the mattresses were like that. There is no closet in the room only a garment rack. I had a room with a King size bed. The room is very small and the bathroom is small. The rooftop definitely doesn't look like the pics on the site. The only thing nice about the rooftop is the view. Like I said before this place definitely needs a refresh. It does have potential to be better if they spruced it up a bit. Maybe some paint and clean the rugs in the hallways. BASIC, BASIC, BASIC is all I can say. For some people this may be enough but for me it definitely wasn't. If someone wrote a detailed review like this when I was looking for somewhere to stay I wouldn't have chosen this place. You get what you pay for PERIOD!!! For reference I stayed here for a 4 day 3 night stay in September. And lastly there is scaffolding on the front and side of the building which made this place even more unappealing. (I know the scaffolding is only temporary)

Just returned from 2 days at the LIC Hotel - this place is a GREAT value. Staff is great and special shout out to Maurice who makes your day with a great reception as you check in. The hotel is clean and amazingly roomy to be in NYC and not costing $400 a night. I was very pleasantly surprised. We got a parking space in the lot and were able to look out from our hotel room and see our car! Subway nearby to take you anywhere. A Trader Joes is popping up about 2 blocks away. Very very convenient. I WILL return.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. We stayed there for two weeks in October 2019, it means before all the pandemic restrictions and new conditions. We hope for the possibility to come back. LIC is a standard hotel offering standard services and everything worked well. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. The WIFI worked properly. The added value of the hotel is the location and external spaces. The subway station is around the corner, the city center you can reach in few minutes. The grocery is just around the corner as well. The roof top area is amazing! You can bring your own food there or have drink and observe the evening skyline. Definitely recommend! The breakfast is the basic US type. For us Europeans it was quite monotonous. Hardly to expect vegetables, cheese or salami. That is why we have chosen for several times to have our breakfast at Court Square Diner - they offer great variety of breakfast types (be aware of huge portions :) Generally we were satisfied.
