We spent 9 nights in this hotel and I must say that everything was perfect. My girlfriend and I had a great time and we also became attached to our room. Spacious room with a nice light, cleaning done every day, after the third from our arrival (as soon as we arrived they even gave us a flyer where it was specified). Great breakfast, and only 3/4 minutes from the F subway stop that takes you to Manhattan in very few minutes. I've read reviews that say the neighborhood is not safe, we never had any problems even coming back with the subway at night, around midnight. Maybe the neighborhood is not the nicest but it is fine. Thank you very much to the staff, I hope to return soon, I will definitely be back for an upcoming trip to the Big Apple!
Had the opportunity to stay a few nights at this Long Island City Gem for a long weekend Check in was super fast & easy Staff went out of their way to accommodate & make sure my wife and I felt welcomed especially Jose. We loved that the hotel was conveniently close to the trains we were a hop jump & a skip away from The City. Definitely enjoyed the continental breakfast they had everything we enjoy to eat. Our room was cozy, we had an amazing view of The City Skyline which is so nostalgic. Overall I would recommend this hotel for the following reasons Cleanliness Staff goes above and beyond Continental Breakfast Location
I stayed here for 2 nights. The front desk staff was welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and well-kept. The breakfast bar had a good variety but only boiled eggs as a protein. It would be nice to have scrambled eggs and bacon or sausage available. The location of the hotel is kind of weird as it is in an industrial area next to NYCHA apartments. So it can be sketchy at night if you are walking back to the hotel. There is very limited parking in front of the hotel and its FCFS, so finding parking can near the hotel can be hard. Overall, we had a pleasant and good experience.
Staff is great! Very friendly and helpful. Room is on the smaller side but is good enough for what we were there for - to go to Mets game and sightsee in NY. Hotel is clean. Location of the hotel is good logistically - close to subway station - but the neighborhood area is not the nicest. Overall a nice stay because of the staff!
Simply speaking a good clean hotel. Build just before the pandemic so facilities are still fresh/new. Staff on reception lovely to deal with (JV responsive on email, Jennifer, Alex and Bella - Keep smiling) Rooms are clean but you do have to request for your room to be made/change of towels etc after 3 days. This is a current policy but is subject to change as time passes. Good fitness room - small but ideal for a small workout. Breakfast - ideal with several types of Bagels/bread for toasting, fresh fruit, Muffins (Banana, Blueberry and Choc chip, 4 types of cereal, juices, tea, coffee etc. Recently they started boiled eggs - seems like a hit as everyone has them. Shout out to Rachael who bless is so busy topping everything up as quickly as its put out then its gone. I just guess folks now a days must really be hungry?? Generally we would stay again. Just a word of caution that the hotel is in a neighborhood that can be a little uncomfortable for some. Especially when its dark then you just need to be on your guard. travel with some one?? Only a few minutes to the Metro and quite a number of buses. Also quite a few eateries for grabbing a quick bite to eat but you'll need to travel for anything decent.…
The staff here was wonderful! I booked the hotel for my girlfriend and I ordered flowers for the day she would arrive. I called the hotel and Bella offered to help with coordinate the receipt and was very meticulous about when the flowers would arrive and told me options in case she would not be around. Unfortunately the florist messed up and didn't deliver. Lots of back and forth with the florist and me checking in with the hotel staff. Everyone at the hotel was very patient throughout. I had to get the florist to redeliver; the florist never confirmed redelivery but the front desk did! And it was even delivered to the room. This level of service is amazing. Again, a big thanks to the staff at Wingate!
This is my 15th trip to NYC and I have had my fair share of sad budget hotels in Queens... this one doesn't disapoint. I stayed at Wingate for 5 days. Jose & Amy went out of their way to get us our room ahead of check-in. Friendly staff who don't appear to be blasé and texting their friends. They are always very supportive and attentive. Super clean rooms, nice views, small fridge, contemporary decor... the only caveat is the sketchy neighborhood. The ex-Howard Johnson in front is now converted into a homeless complex which seems to have a bunch of drug dealers luring and shouting until 2-3 in the morning. I can totally understand this a major show stopper for families or single ladies... walking back to the hotel at night can be frightening just because of that building in front of the hotel.…
Stayed here for 5 days and can not say 1 negative thing about hotel. Staff friendly, clean rooms, newly built. Breakfast was always replenished. It's just the area. Don't walk around at night. Hotel is beside a New York Housing project. It's a 2 block walk to the subway stop.
The staff was great! We're disappointed that there's no pool or spa. Check-in was easy, which is good. There's a free breakfast 😋 We really appreciate the staff. 2 elevators, so there wasn't a long wait.
Great value; breakfast enough to start the day; close to transportation; confortable beds. Excellent service (Raffat was very helpful); the location is not very nice but the hotel is close to public transportation and few minutes away from Manhattan.
