Fairly newly built hotel, with smallish basic rooms, lacking fridge, microwave. Disappointing breakfast. Things work, rates are reasonable, just do not expect too much! Staff is helpful. My room on the fifth floor was quite noisy: from the street below and the subway trains running nearby.
A very good value hotel close to transport links to Manhattan. Good local restaurants nearby. Breakfast is simple but OK. Rooms are nice, only three pillows between two! Can't get an extra one if you ask. Hot water can take a long time to flow.
Room and bathroom very clean and functional. The breakfast offered is a bit poor. The hotel is located in a city area with several metro lines to Manhattan, so that it only takes 15 minutes to get there on average.
The LIC Microtel Hotel is near all subway lines. As a rewards member I was able to take advantage of early check in without a fee. The breakfast bar is typical of the covid times we are in. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. Rooms are small but a NY hotel is only for showering and sleeping. The price is considerably less than a Manhattan hotel of same quality. The neighborhood is a little sketchy and may not be suitable for young families.
After a long day in the city. I wanted to take a shower. I let the water run for 5 minutes and NO hot water. I contacted the front desk. He said let it run for 15 minutes. No joke. It took at least 15 minutes of running the shower to get hot water. I was on the second floor facing the front of the hotel. The LED lights were outside my window. My room never got dark. Having a brick road and a stop sign nearby also made the cars extra loud. Very unpleasant stay. Not quiet. Too bright and took forever to get a hot shower.
Dont book expensive ugly hotels in Manhattan. Book this one instead in ~20min subway ride and you are exactly in times square. the hotel is modern and super clean. Thank you Microtel for your great services.
very good location - right next to the subway station. 10 min. to Manhatten. The price value was good. The breakfast is not good. The soundproofing on the windows is not sufficient. The rooms are quite small.
the hotel is perfect, clean, comfortable rooms and very friendly staff, the location is very close to the train, be sure to choose The only problem they have to fix the wifi in the rooms, at the reception there was no connection problem
I stayed here to save money on conference travel, and the room was comfortable and clean with friendly desk staff. If you’re not planning to be in the room much, this is fine. The breakfast was nonexistent (coffee/tea, warm yogurts, and granola bars) and there’s no fridge in the room, so plan to grab a good bagel on your own in town. Transit nearby was convenient and reliable. Would stay again if I needed a cheap-ish option, but worth it to just go elsewhere if you have the extra cash.
We will definitely comeback and stay on this hotel. Clean hotel, clean room, clean elevators, clean hallways, big, front desk staff are nice. Guy with long braided hair on night shift ( I am sorry I forgot your name) and Myra on dayshift. When we come back, I will give you two gifts. Ty for a nice stay as first timer in NY.
