It is clear that the hotel is trying to get by on the bare minimum of staffing. Slow breakfast service, spotty WiFi, broken AC that finally got fixed, lack of housekeeping despite requesting. We paid a LOT for this holiday weekend with family and the services were literally bare minimum. It was so disappointing. The only benefit was it’s location. It was super easy to hop on the subway and get to Manhattan.
I came for a research trip and stayed for a little over two weeks. The room and premises were quite clean and comfortable, and the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The location is great in terms of public transportation: the Queens Plaza station is practically across the street, and has an E train that leads to the Skytrain (the shuttle that goes to JFK Airport). The Queensboro station is only about three and a half blocks. There’s a Trader Joe’s about a fifteen minute walk away, or one stop from Queensboro station, in case you plan to self-cater. There is currently a construction project across the street, but I personally wasn’t bothered by the noise.
We stayed for 7 nights. As we approached the front desk for check-in at 15:00 we were told there are technical difficulties. After some pressure from our side we got the room at 15:45. We understand s**t happens, but it's not a pleasant feeling when it happens to you. The hotel staff informed us that housekeeping is done only after 5 days. See attached photo from the room. If you want anything, it will be done by request. I'm not saying this is good or bad - these are the actual facts. The room is nice and very clean. Same for the bathroom. We did not eat at the hotel so we can't say anything about the restaurant. The location is OK, not far from the Queens Plaza and Queensboro Plaza stations.
This lovely hotel is located at a convenient location. The hotel location is at reasonable walking distance from the Queen's Plaza (this subway has an elevator to ease with luggage handling). The hotel is across from a lovely green space that has plenty of seating benches. The hotel lobby is modern and well furnished including a well situated bar. The hotel staff we met were friendly and kind (including the front desk, the bar, the restaurant server, the cook, and the housekeeping attendant). The cooked breakfast was tasty, our room was clean with a very comfy bed...we had a restfull stay. The hotel does not serve lunch or dinner, but that's not a problem with food options in the nearby area, including Hudson Food Market. Yes, we would like to go back to this location and highly recommend it!…
I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Long Island City four nights with my pet. I was not informed at check-in that housekeeping would not clean my room unless requested after 3 days, supposedly because of the pandemic. This is the only hotel I stayed at during the pandemic that did not service my room daily, including other hotels in NYC. After I complained, housekeeping delivered clean towels. I asked that they at least take out the trash and replenish the coffee. I was told “they would take care of me”. The next day I returned to overflowing trash, no supplies to make coffee, unmade bed, dirty towels, and only 1/2 roll of TP left. The front desk said to leave the trash outside my door, but additional trash bags were not provided. The business center was also closed because of the pandemic. There is a parking garage next door that charges $38/night with no in/out privileges. One night I returned after midnight to find that the garage was full. I was able to park in a lot several blocks away for $20/night. I did not feel safe walking down the poorly lit street alone after midnight to get back to the hotel. I feel that the Hilton Garden Inn is using the pandemic as an excuse to cut costs and provide zero amenities to customers.…
This hotel was clean, fresh and quite. Staff was amazing great location for my business trip! There are restaurants nearby great bars and very close to the city just a train away or Uber. I would definitely stay again! Thank
The customer service here is outstanding. Shavon M went out of her way to ensure my stay was top notch. The room was clean. A bit loud with subway, sirens and honking, but worth it. The lobby was buzzing with friendliness.
We experienced a cancelled flight and had to find a late-night place to stay not too far from LGA ready for an early flight in the morning. We did not stay long but the staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was clean. We arrived late and left early.
I had a great stay here at the HGI. My room was fresh, clean, and spacious. The room felt bright and airy, with all the furniture in good condition. There was a nice TV, Keurig, Safe, Mini-Fridge, Iron/Board available. The bed was really comfortable and the room overall was pretty quiet - although the hallway could sometimes be a bit noisy from slamming doors/talking while waiting for the lift. The only other issue I experienced was a couple of loose fittings - the toilet paper holder was loose, as was a hook on the door. But these were really minor and didn't affect the enjoyment of my stay. In addition, the hotel is nearby multiple public transport services making it easy to use as a base to get around to Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn. The staff are really friendly and welcoming too. WiFi was good, I was able to work without any issues or interruptions. I'd highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.…
If every Hilton was like this one I would stay with them. The staff makes the total difference and are always friendly no matter what time of day. I would recommend this hotel to my business with no problem
