Angel Wing Hollow B & B was our first experience of North American B & B's and we were not disappointed! We were shown to our room before being treated to a hot drink and home made cookies while chatting to hosts Helga & Al. Our room was spacious and clean and Al had thoughtfully put the air conditioning on before our arrival. Helga & Al happy to give details of local restaurants. Breakfast was great and we lost track of time chatting with Helga & Al over coffee. We felt welcomed and left feeling as if we were part of the family. No hesitation in recommending Angel Wing Hollow, thanks for a great experience!

Coming from Holland and having lots of experience with b&b's in England, my husband and I can truly say that the Angel Wing Hollow is in every way an excellent b&b, and anyone who says different, is deeply mistaken. We happened to stay in the same period in Angel Wing Hollow as the lady who wrote the last review, and we totally disagree with her. Shower: perfect, no sulphur smell whatsoever. Al: perfect host and cook, friendly, quiet and good company. Helga: as sweet as can be. Room with excellent air condition. The only disturbance was caused by the lady in question making a lot of noise late in the evening whilst complaining and leaving. We highly recommend Angel Hollow Wing. I was a little worried at first because I could not find photos in the internet of this place.
But when I got there, it was actually surprising to see how clean and well furnished it is with many Victorian furniture.
The bathroom has been redone and the house updated.
The breakfast was light but my mushroom omelette was delicately seasoned and very thin like crepe.
We picked the quiet room in the back. But when you turn the lights off, it is pitch dark. There was no night light so we left one light on so we could see where to go if we wake up in the middle of the night.
Be careful not to pass by it as this Victorian is recessed from the street and the driveway is not clear. The grass has grown on the driveway but mowed down like the rest of the expansive lawn. It appears as if it does not have a driveway but it does.

We made a last minute decision to go away Labor Day weekend and visit the Omi Sculpture garden as well. Lucky for us this old fashioned B&B had a room for us and served us a very nice breakfast on Sunday as well a cookie care package for the trip! Hosts Helga and Al are easy to talk to and very accommodating; they even mailed me the pullover we left behind. I subtracted one star only in that the queen bed was too firm for my taste.

The name Angel Wing Hollow is perfect as Helga has beautiful angels throughout the home. You won't leave hungry in the morning as Al prepares an awesome breakfast. Upon our arrival we were greeting with coffee or tea and melt in your mouth delicious cookies. Heart warming conversations made us feel welcome. The home is located on a quiet street with beautiful gardens surrounding it. The rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated, with a private bath. Somewhere on my travels I lost a gold earring. Helga and Al found it and returned it to me. I feel I have made new friends and certainly will return to Angel Wing Hollow the first chance I get.

We just returned from a 2 night stay at Angel Wing Hollow. The house is lovely and so are the hosts. They greeted us with hot drinks and freshly baked cookies. As we were sitting by the fire drinking wine, Al offered us a plate of cheese and crackers to go with it. The breakfasts were very tasty and beautifully presented. Al also recommended places for us to walk and dine in the area. I would recommend this B&B.

We have stayed at Angel Wing Hollow Bed & Breakfast many times on a yearly basis and have found it an outstanding place to stay.. The hosts are very warm and caring people who go out of their way to make our visits a memorable experience. The breakfast is always the high point of the morning.. With homemade breads and a different menu each morning to entice our palates.

After viewing the website, and talking with our potential hostess, we couldn’t wait to take our weekend trip. Sad to say, from our arrival at Angel Wing Hollow B&B to our premature departure, our visit was loaded from minor disappointments—one after another--to major aggravation. Helga sought to please, she is a wonderful, sweet lady! Al, however, started with a friendly demeanor, but deteriorated to a deer-in-the-headlights, pasted-on-smile of an "Oh, well, here it is, this is how it is here, so too bad if you don't like it" attitude, absolutely passive-aggressive.
When I travel, I want to check in, get my things to my room, and then go about my business. My husband and I were greeted with some wonderful homemade cranberry cookies in the parlor, but our hosts didn’t seem to be able to read body language. We told them that we had to meet some friends a few miles down the road, and but they just continued to chitchat. We didn’t want to be rude, but did not enjoy being stuck there in that parlor. For starters, the day of our arrival was HOT. The weather felt more like July than May. The air in that old Victorian house was very heavy and still. I just wanted to look around and briefly admire the décor (which was very nice,) then get to our room--which thankfully had AC--and get settled.
When the “visit” had finally ended, we were each given a bottle of room-temperature water, and shown to our room.
When we were ready to go out, that’s when the “oh-well, too-bads” started. The old deadbolt lock wouldn’t work, because the wooden door’s frame was warped, and prevented alignment of the bolt. My husband had to go get Al, who made several attempts to get it to work, then reassured us with “well, no one’s around here who’s going to try to get in there.” I definitely did not appreciate his cavalier attitude concerning the security of our belongings, but said nothing. He then showed us how to “lift and push” the door to better our chances of getting the lock to work.
When we later returned to our room, we couldn’t wait to just take a shower and relax. But, of the six apertures in the tiny showerhead, only three worked, and the water pressure was terrible! If I had needed to wash my hair, I would have had to do it under the faucet in the sink!
When we had arrived, Al had asked us whether we had any food allergies, so I told him no, but that we both had had weight loss surgery and could only eat limited amounts of food, and that I had to avoid most sugar, or I’d get very sick. Al informed us that we “could eat what we could, and just push the rest aside” (???)When we came to the table the following morning, we were greeted with sugar-laden vanilla yogurt, and orange juice! I could eat only the fruit garnish from the yogurt. Al had prepared a cheese and mushroom omelet that was great, but I could eat only half and I hate wasting food. The bacon was very salty, so I asked if there were any diet soda, because I wanted something sweet-tasting to balance it. Al brought me a large serving of room-temperature diet coke; when I asked him for some ice, I was informed that they didn’t have any!
My husband did talk to Helga about the water problem, and she reassured us that Al would take care of it. After spending the day with our friends, we returned to our room at about 6:00, wanting nothing more than a shower and relaxation. Helga met us as we entered, and informed us that Al was just about to replace the old showerhead—good thing we didn’t get back any sooner! But, we just thanked Al and were able to settle in shortly after. Fresh towels were waiting (Thank you, Helga!) but the bed had been left unmade. Little did we know that the worst insult was on its way.
The new water pressure was great, but as I began to enter the shower stall, I smelled the hint of a rotten-egg odor. The longer the water ran, the worse it got—so bad that even my husband could detect it out in the room. It was horrible. By this time, I was so tired, sweaty, and frustrated that I was ready to cry. Both of us had had it! (Thank God this B&B didn’t take credit cards! (We had offered to pay our balance on arrival, but Helga said it could wait. )
We checked online, and found a motel about twenty minutes away and packed our things to leave.) Al heard us leaving our room, and came upstairs; when we complained about the foul odor of the water, his excuse was that their well had a “sulfur problem” but that he just replaced the filter, and that it “should be okay now.” Again, another lame excuse. I told him I was tired of one problem after another and his excuses, and that we just wanted to leave.
That’s when things really got ugly. Al began spluttering about how much effort he had made on our behalf, and that nothing would satisfy us. I informed that he could expect a poor review on Trip Advisor. His response was a very rude, sarcastic “Oooo, I’m really scared now.” I just picked up my bags and headed down the stairs and out to our car.
My husband did pause downstairs and apologized to Helga; he told me that she was very upset about what had happened. She could not apologize enough to him. As we were going to our car, she put her head out the door and continued to say she was so sorry, she wished she could do something. I told her that she was a lovely, sweet lady, and that I wished that things had turned out differently.
I’ve stayed at B&B’s before, and always enjoyed the stay—until now. Because of our experience at Angel Wing Hollow, my husband has said that he will NEVER stay at a B&B again!

We arrived on a winter afternoon and were greeted by our host, Al, who showed us to our lovely front room: bigger than I expected from the pictures of the Bay Room. The bathroom is compact but had everything we needed. Very clean and great attention to detail. We were then treated to tea and home made cookies, much appreciated after a snowy drive. We were pleased that the town kept the roads well plowed and we were able to get around easily. Breakfast was cooked to perfection and well presented, we were offered a couple choices the night before, but we left it to the chef, and he served us fruit with yogurt and granola topping, warm biscuits, a Swiss and mushroom omelet, bacon, coffee and juice. Everything was delicious. The hosts were friendly and knowledgeable about the area without being intrusive, and were respectful of our schedule. We will be back!

"There are just two rooms, the front room we could hear a little traffic, mostly the snow plows going by and the train whistle in the distance, but the house is set back from the road and we had no problems sleeping through what little bit of traffic there is on this country road. Bathroom for the Bay Room is very compact but adequate."

"They have 2 rooms, both very adequate. We took the front (Bay) room because we love the sound of the trains going by. Don't think you can hear train in other room. The other room has a larger bathroom with tub and shower. Our room had a nice bathroom with a nice fully glassed in shower."
