On the water with an open restaurant/bar design to take advantage of the location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Ja was particularly helpful with me as he speaks fluent English and is just an overall happy and nice guy. Room was basic but very clean, bed was comfortable, had a mosquito net (in good shape) and a fan overhead. Upstairs...

I booked three nights here but ended up staying for six. There is something magical about sitting on that riverside terrace, watching the boats and birds go by. This experience alone makes it worth staying here. And the helpful, friendly staff. The room I stayed in (garden room) was quite basic and in need of attention. It also tended to...

This seems to be the place to hang out with the expat crowd. Pros: • Cheap • Beautiful location on the river, close to town • Staff can arrange pirogue excursions • Good restaurant/bar • Decent wifi Cons: • Rooms are very very basic - don't expect much!

Decent rooms with good shower and beds. Great views across the Casamance river. There is a good riverside restaurant where they serve good food (fresh fish and good skewers!). In a quiet area, but a few minutes walk from the Main Street. Definitely recommended.

I looked at some hotels in Ziguinchor and found this to be the best option. Nice and clean with an excellent bar terrace on the river where you can enjoy a beer whilst watching the sunset. Rooms upstairs offer a small balcony, but are rather dark, so most of my time was spent on the terrace. Next week I'll go...

there is much to like about the Hotel Perroquet .It is run by an elegant french lady along with her team of attentive staff .It was quite busy when we were there ,which is very very unusual at the present time,.The reason is its excellent location, ,lovely restaurant( overlooking the river),clean tidy simple rooms ( fan only ) all at...

Stayed in the balcony rooms overlooking the river during a two week long business trip to Ziguinchor. Rooms were cleaned daily and the staff was always courteous and helpful. They had good advice about where to get local dishes from restaurants in the area and were able to accomodate me when I had to prolong my stay. The room itself...

Le Perroquet is fine for a night. That is, if they get your reservation. We arrived around 7pm, after speaking to the owner on the phone (he lives in France) to find out they didn't have our reservation. After a lengthly, illogical argument, we ended up with a room that did not look over the river (as we had reserved)....

The entry of the hotel compound is somewhat rundown and could use some love and attention and so do the rooms. The view from the first floor rooms is suberb but why not put a second chair on the balcony? Although its basic clean the room would look better after a proper shrub. There's no hot water and taking a...

I also experienced that the staff of the hotel behind the bar/reception who doubles as waiter is very unfriendly ,but the worst was that the small rooms at the river side were totally infected with mosquitos. I could even not use the bathroom without being sucked by the mosquitos and this was the same when I returned after some days...
